Earlier today, we reported that NBC had renewed Blindspot for a second season. Here’s the official press release which offers some additional details:
NBC RENEWS HIT DRAMA SERIES “BLINDSPOT” FOR SECOND SEASON
Sullivan Stapleton and Jaimie Alexander Lead Stellar Cast as Tattoo Mysteries Continue
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Nov. 9, 2015 – NBC has ordered a second season of its hit freshman drama “Blindspot,” the #1 new series of the fall in the 18-49 demo.
With Sullivan Stapleton as an FBI agent who’s not to be messed with and breakout star Jaimie Alexander now firmly established as a TV leading lady, “Blindspot” has proven to be both a ratings and critical smash. Since its Sept. 21 launch, the series has dominated the 10 p.m. Monday timeslot.
The Wall Street Journal says “Blindspot” manages to exert instant powers of seduction and keep a viewer rapt,” TV Guide says the series is “a sleek and exciting showcase for Jaimie Alexander’s elaborately inked ninja,” the Los Angeles Times writes that “‘Blindspot’ comes out of the box (or that darn bag) with tantalizing, high-energy grace” and USA Today calls it one of the top five shows of the fall.
“We are over the moon with the success of ‘Blindspot,’ and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television. Jaimie and Sullivan have done an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension each week in trying to unravel the mystery of Jane’s tattoos,” said Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment. “We literally can’t wait to see what the second season will bring.”
“Blindspot” is averaging a 3.7 rating, 12 share in adults 18-49 and 12.7 million viewers overall so far this season, according to “most current” averages from Nielsen Media Research through the season’s opening six weeks, making it the #1 new series of the new fall season in 18-49. “Blindspot” is undefeated in the time period so far this season versus its broadcast competition in adults 18-49 and is outrating its ABC and CBS competition combined in that key demo.
“Blindspot” is also one of the most time-shifted shows on television, growing by +71% so far this season in adult 18-49 rating going from its next-day “live plus same day” rating to “live plus seven day Nielsens (from a 2.65 to a 4.54) and by more than 5.7 million viewers overall (9.3 million to 15.1 million).
A beautiful woman, with no memories of her past, is found naked in Times Square with her body fully covered in intricate tattoos. Her discovery sets off a vast and complex mystery that immediately ignites the attention of the FBI, who begin to follow the road map on her body to reveal a larger conspiracy of crime while bringing her closer to discovering the truth about her identity.
The cast includes Sullivan Stapleton (“300: Rise of an Empire,” “Strike Back”), Jaimie Alexander (“Thor: The Dark World,” “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.”), Marianne Jean-Baptiste (“Broadchurch,” “Without a Trace”), Rob Brown (“Treme”), Audrey Esparza (“Black Box”), Ukweli Roach (“The Royals”) and Ashley Johnson (“Much Ado About Nothing”).
Writer Martin Gero (“Bored to Death,” “L.A. Complex”) serves as executive producer along with Greg Berlanti (“Arrow,” “The Mysteries of Laura,” “The Flash”), Sarah Schechter (“The Mysteries of Laura,” “The Flash”), Mark Pellington (“Cold Case”) and Marcos Siega (“The Following”). Pellington directed the pilot episode.
“Blindspot” is a production of Warner Bros. Television and Berlanti Productions.

What do you think? Do you like the Blindspot TV series? Do you plan to stick with it?
I love the show but I agree that it is really hard to follow when the background noise is the foreground. Please fix this.
Love the Show but the background volume needs to go or I will be going. It is not enjoyable watching a show that you cannot hear the dialogue a lot of the time. I am sure the sponsors will not be happy knowing people are leaving over a simple fix. There is no need for the music to be that loud.
Please renew Blind spot for season two everybody likes the show
Please renew Blind spot for season two my brothers like the show
Please renew Blind spot for season 2 And the Brothers like the show
Hi, I enjoy your show but cannot…CANNOT stand the loud sound track where you barely hear the voices of the actors. You need to change that cause a lot of my friends won’t even give the show a chance. It is very ridiculous to have such good writing and yet….you cannot even hear the the actors. I even get tiered watching it and sometimes stop and watch another time…and I like the show. If it does not change I cannot follow the anymore. There are other shows just as good, that I can actually hear. If you do not think… Read more »
Please renew Blind spot for another season and many other seasons
Please renew Blind spot for another season it would be crazy if nbc would not renew the show
I enjoy Blindspot; good show/cast. However, I did spot a “blooper” in episode 13. The Russian spy, Olivia, was drowned in the toilet by her lawyer–but when the camera showed her dead body slumped over the toilet, her right arm moved! Quite a feat for a dead body! But it’s still a good show.
