Positive thinking certainly didn’t help NBC’s new reality series, Breakthrough with Tony Robbins, in the ratings. The TV show’s been pulled after just two episodes.
In Breakthrough with Tony Robbins, self-help master Tony Robbins seeks to help ordinary people overcome big challenges so that they can begin living their lives to their true potential.
The first episode of Breakthrough got off to a very poor start with a 0.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic and only 3.12 million viewers. That put the debut in fourth place in both areas.
This week’s installment attracted about the same in the demo but total viewership fell to 2.76 million viewers. How low could the ratings go?

We won’t get to find out. NBC has pulled Breakthrough effective immediately. They’ve replaced it with repeats of Minute to Win It for the foreseeable future.
This leaves four episodes of Breakthrough on the shelf, unaired. The network hasn’t made any indication that they’ll burn off the remaining installments. There is no way that NBC will be ordering any more episodes and the show’s been confirmed as cancelled.
What do you think? Did you like Breakthrough with Tony Robbins? Why do you think the show didn’t succeed in attracting more viewers?

We clearly live in a very different world now and it’s disappointing to see such an awesome bright light be snuffed out right out of the gates…How about a little broad ranged advertising so that a suffering nation has a chance to be inspired to learning and living at their highest potential! How about all those people who have lost jobs, homes and relationships who can’t afford their own personal life coach, who can draw strength from Tony Robbins on air presence….His coaching over the airwaves to help turn around negative and smothered attitudes…Our only hope for the return of… Read more »
Very upset that the show was cancelled. Great show that relates to everyday life. It was very motivational for me. I don’t get it!!!!!!
I was so excited to see Tony Robbin’s show on TV. I have studied his work for years and am so interested in Tony’s techniques of transformation. I even called friends and family to let them know about the show. We all loved the show and want to back on the air. Please bring it back. In these times of hardship and discord in this country, it is good to see something positive happening in our world. The shows on tv today, are nothing but negative , sex and violence. We have lost our standard of living…shame on you America!… Read more »
Not sure who you’re listening to when you cancel shows. Something that is actually inspiring & possibly even impactful in today’s world, and you Kill it! With all the crap on TV, this bright light that was quickly squelched. This country gets stranger everyday.
I am not one to leave comments on a blog…. HOWEVER, This is a First class show the one and only show that has made my week, month and year!!!! I do not understand with the main stream BS that has been going on with NBS that after they find a WINNER like Anthony Robbines they would just CUT BAIT……. No wonder why they are going down the drain…. God bless Anthony Robbins and everything he is trying to do to make this world a better place with commen sence…….
This is a travesity. With all the nonsense on tv today, NBC has the gall to pull a show that is positive and up lifting. And they his replace his with repeat of In IT TO WIN GAME SHOW….THAT’S RIDICULOUS AND I WILL BE BOYCOTTING NBC GOING FORWARD BECAUSE QUALITY DECENT PROGRAMING NEVER GETS A CHANCE. WE ARE TALKING SIX EPISODES NOT A REGULAR SERIES…NBC …STANDS FOR NO BODY CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought it was excellent. I am a huge fan of Tony Robbins, and I am very sad that it was pulled. (I am the world’s biggest skeptic, and Mr. Robbins has absolutely won me over.) I think those episodes should be put into a time capsule. Maybe in the future they will truly be appreciated for their greatness, similar to a Van Gogh or a Shawshank Redemption.
OMG!! It’s the FIRST awesome show on tv that enlightens people and helps them grow….I cannot believe NBC removed the show. That is pitiful.! Bring it back please…people aren’t used to seeing negative energy being transformed into positive. The world needs more of this…Please, give it a chance….
I am so very disappointed to find out that “Break Through” with Anthony Robbins is cancelled. Since the show started, I am always looking forward to Tuesday night. I was very sad I missed last show and looking forward to tonight show. I have been telling my family & friends about this and now they do not have a chance to check out the show.
If I didn’t want to waste my time on Dave I would have tons to say to you. But my objective here is to state how I feel about Tony’s show being pulled. I am a 44 year old woman, newly single mom after leaving my husband of 14 years. Feeling lost and alone with little hope for the future or where to start, I totally in error saw one of the clips for the new show. I never watch NBC, really because there shows suck the most. I decided to watch the first show. Not fully relating to the… Read more »
The reason it was pulled because it was a sham. As a self help guru throwing someone out of an airplane, having them serve breakfast at a homeless shelter and all the other nonsense this guy proposes is bunk. None of his solutions helped the out of work person get work or the cripple get his legs or morale back. Why doesn’t Tony hire them and be done with it. Funny, we didn’t see Tony at the homeless shelter. Guess there is only so much a guru can do and that wasn’t of them. Tony, go back to your day… Read more »
Bring he shows back. this man is the real thing…A change angent…
Have him talk more
about his ideas. Have him teach as he does in his presentations then bring folks up from the audience LIVE!!!!
I am shocked they pulled Tony Robbins show. I thought it was very inspirational and motivating. I had been watching Jillian’s Losing It show at the same time slot and was surprised when I turned it on and the Tony Robbins show was on instead. I thought that was a real treat and that Jillian’s show would resume when his was finished. Now they’re both gone. I guess I’ll go back to cable. What a shame.
Give it a chance! I enjoyed the show and am really surprised it was pulled after 2 episodes.
My vote is to bring it back and put some advertising around it!
The show was outstanding and truly inspiring. I’m getting my hands on the other episodes somehow…
Hopefully this will be a catalyst for the creation of more episodes aired on another more supportive station.
