The ratings for Castle have been coming down over the last couple seasons. Will they keep falling? Could the show end up being cancelled or is it almost sure to be renewed because of syndication profits? Stay tuned!
On Castle, Rick (Nathan Fillion) and Kate’s (Stana Katic) relationship continues to evolve while they continue to solve crimes. The show also features the talents of Susan Sullivan, Molly Quinn, Jon Huertas, Tamala Jones, Seamus Dever, and Penny Johnson Jerald.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: Castle has been renewed for a seventh season.
5/13 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings in context.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The fifth season of Castle averaged a 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 10.18 million total viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Castle TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a seventh season?
Castle is the best show on T.V.!I watch all the shows every time and I bought all the D.V.D.s
This is the only ‘real’ show on ABC in the past few years (non ‘reality’). It is well written and acted – and we’re totally hooked in our household (ages 24, 59, 75) – PLEASE DON’T CANCEL!!!
Castle is a favorite of mine…have missed some episodes because I tend to fall asleep before it comes on…pretty busy in the day and get up too early…but I catch up on the reruns…
I stopped watching TV totally after a heart attack in 2010. The “reality” shows were a waste of my time, and the “new” type of comedies were stupid and an insult to my intelligence. Then in early 2013 while working on settling my brother’s estate, I discovered Castle in multiple-episode reruns on the TNT network. I was enthralled with the clever, well-written stories and the right touch of humor and drama between Castle and Beckett. I am hooked! Please renew Castle for a seventh season, or I might just give up on TV again.
Please renew Castle – Totally enjoy the show – whole family looks forward to Monday nights at 10:00 pm
Please don’t cancel CASTLE. I’m 64 and love the series. There are so few shows on that aren’t dumb comedy, reality or aimed at really young demo. I watch every week or I have it set to record.
Best show on television. So, of course they are considering cancelling it.
I love this show…Please DON’T cancel Castle…I don’t watch much on TV…This is it!!! The actors and writers are fantastic and the hour on Monday night at 10:00 disappears in a flash. The show is such great entertainment…
Because of my fascination with this show I began watching ABC and have evolved into leaving it on most days. Although the evening line-up leaves much to be desired I do now watch from 5 am – the evening news. The only ABC show that I regularly watch during the evening is actually Castle.
fun, fun, fun
It must be renewed, it’s one of the only shows that are worth watching
This is the only show I watch. They can’t take it off.I LOVE this show.
The only evening show on ABC that I watch regularly!
Kevin,I so agere with you,it is the best show on tv so let’s enjoy it for several seasons.
If people don’t like it,to bad….we do….all 10 mill.of us
Guess the demographics do not impress the channel. They should consider the fact that their evening line-ups do not command ANY respect or following. I cannot believe that they have not picked it up for next year already.
Agree with Alison above. Channel 7 appears at present to be showing series 3!!. I have asked them when the catchup will commence but have received a vague answer. As Alison says 1000pm on a Sunday is not conducive to good ratings.
The popularity of this show continues to attract more viewers in Australia. The whole cast is great, with Stana Katic being outstanding as an actress and is brilliant with her facial expressions when Castle is discussing his theories
Long may it reign.
Canada playing it on Sunday nights didn’t help the ratings in the USA, but the show in Australia is being totally destroyed by Channel 7’s lack of responsible scheduling. They air it on a Sunday night and more than often its delayed by live shows. It often begins after 10.00 pm. It was also aired fast tracked from the USA for about 7 episodes. Its been off the air since December 2013. So thanks to Australia’s channel 7 the show is not fairing well over here.
Why don’t THEY respect their good shows? How much do they think their audiences will put up with no new shows? Moonlighting was not a strong enough message for the networks. They now have to cope with a plethora of competition from lesser stations. They well deserve it for not investing in their audiences. That is why the Yankees are doing so much better than the Mets – the management respects their audiences.
cancel
In your dream .. The show is fun to watch. It does have some serious episodes but it’s a comedy drama .. Did I mention the rating is really good ?
Why?
