Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
A friend recommended Cedar Cove to me and after the 2nd episode I was completely hooked on this show!
It is without a doubt one of the best shows I’ve ever watched. Wish I had started watching it sooner!
I just start season 3 on Netflix and so sad that there won’t be any no more seasons. I would LOVE to see Cedar Cove make a come back soon!
Is that possible?
Maybe a reunion?
Very disappointed that they cancelled this show. I just finished the 3rd season and was looking for the 4th. It’s hard to find a clean uplifting show in the midst of all the hard core tv. I loved the characters, the wholesomness and sweetnesd of the show. Please nring it back
I loved this show and am very disappointed that it won’t continue. I binge watched while in recovery from surgery and I saw the last episode yesterday, not realizing it is ended. Very disappointing.
Found Cedar Cove on Netflix & got hooked! I have never binge watched a show before this one…but literally fell in love with the characters & story lines. Please find some way to bring this amazing show back ….if only a movie that “wraps things up”!
Okay, Hallmark has produced a beautiful, interesting, endearing story and gotten us hooked, but the stupid reviewers had to call it sappy and it got cancelled. Come on! We have so few great entertainment options for families and individuals who want quality, wholesome entertainment and when we finally have one and we have gotten hooked, they cancel it. This was a lovely, poignant, well produced, beautifully acted show and my family just got hooked recently, and now only to find there will be no season 4 or 5, etc. Please bring this show back, with the wonderfully talented cast whose… Read more »
Please come back on
would love to have this series come back!
My wife and I recently stumbled onto Cedar Cove on Netflix. We were immediately drawn in and have worked our way now into season 3. We love the scenery, the story lines, the characters and the actors. While I have to acknowledge that I feel the acting could be a little better, I still feel that Cedar Cove is an awesome show and with a little tweaking it could be up there with When Calls The Heart. I’d love to see it back on soon!!!
My typos were terrible so correcting! My comments should have read: loved Cedar Cove and binge watched it which I had never done with any other show. Loved it so much and am devastated to find out that there is no season four.
I found Cedar Cove on Netflix and have binge watched it which I have never done with Amy other show. Love it so ,ugh and am devastated to find it that there is no season four!
I just watched this series on Netflix and I loved it. I am so disappointed that we dont find out if Olivia ends up with Paul. I think you should have one movie finishing up where the stories.

I wish it didn’t end with a cliff hanger
Cedar cove, please come back. It’s a Great Show.
I love this show, and can’t believe that at least a Hallmark movie wouldn’t be considered to answer the questions you left unanswered! What about the fans that followed the show. If this is how Hallmark will handle future series,,,I’m out!
I loved this show. Please bring it back. There are so many unanswered questions. Additionally, the scenery was absolutely beautiful!
I can not believe it ended the way it did! So many questions! The setting was absolutely beautiful! Please bring it back!
