Fans won’t be seeing what happens to Olivia Lockhart in a fourth season of Cedar Cove. Hallmark Channel has cancelled their first scripted TV show after three seasons and 36 episodes.
Cedar Cove revolves around Olive (Andie MacDowell), a single mother from a small seaside community who’s also a municipal court judge. Olivia does her best to balance her career with family and finding love — all the while doing her best to care for the township she calls home. The rest of the cast includes Dylan Neal, Teryl Rothery, Sarah Smyth, Colin Ferguson, Bruce Boxleitner, Barbara Niven, Brennan Elliot, Corey Sevier, Sebastian Spence, Tom Stevens, Jesse Hutch, Jesse Moss, Emily Tennant, and Timothy Webber.
Hallmark’s first scripted TV series debuted in July 2013 to 2.62 million viewers. Though the TV show lasted three seasons, the ratings dropped each year. The first season of Cedar Cove averaged about two million viewers. The second season averaged 1.87 million and the third season averaged 1.67 million.
The cable channel announced the cancellation on their Facebook page. Here’s the statement:
Cedar Cove was the first series launched on Hallmark Channel, and we are incredibly proud of the exquisitely beautiful three season arc it delivered. It was an honor to bring to life the kindness, consideration and courage of this story that Debbie Macomber envisioned. Our heartfelt thanks go out to the extraordinary cast, writers, artists and designers — especially Andie MacDowell, executive producer and show runner Sue Tenney, and of course, Debbie Macomber. It is a privilege to continue a creative working relationship with the incredible talents associated with this series — both in front of and behind the camera – for upcoming projects on Hallmark Channel USA and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

While Cedar Cove won’t be returning for Season 4, our beloved #CedarCove cast are all still part of the family! You’ll see Andie MacDowell produce & star in “The Beach House” based on the novel by Mary Alice Monroe. “Debbie Macomber’s Dashing Through the Snow” premieres 12/12 on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. You’ll see Barbara Niven star with Alison Sweeney in the next installment of #MurderSheBaked: A Plum Pudding Mystery” premiering 11/22 also on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries. And you’ll see Brennan Elliott star with Mariah Carey & Lacey Chabert in the premiere of #AChristmasMelody Dec 19th on Hallmark Channel USA!
The last episode of Cedar Cove aired on September 26th and ended with lots of unanswered questions.
What do you think? Do you like the Cedar Cove TV show? Do you think that it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you like to see the characters return someday?
I loved Cedar cove and watched every episode from the start. It was good clean TV which is rare these days. I don’t like the fact that it has been cancelled, but if it has to be cancelled, I think there should be a final episode or two to draw closure to all the things that were left hanging.

I saddens me that Cedar Cove and all of its multi talented cast will not be returning for season 4. I can’t imagine why? Maybe no nudity, no foul language, no violence..NO RATINGS!..Well they had me hooked. I don’t like being left in Limbo! I feel confident that I am not alone..TY for letting me vent!
So you will just let the loyal 1.67 million viewers…hang out to dry? Sometimes it is not worth watching a new series because you will end it without an ending to it…shame on you!
We loved Cedar Cove and looked forward to it each week. Please bring it back.
I really liked Cedar Cove and would watch it again if it returned to tv.
I am also disappointed, since this was one of the few series on TV that was truthfully a pleasure to watch. I agree with the previous comment that there was too much time between seasons and viewers may have dropped off, switching their attention to other new series.
Couldn’t another network pick it up? Also agree that they should not have left so many questions unanswered.
I just found out that there will not be another season of Cedar Cove. I am deeply disappointed as it had become my favorite series.
I wish Hallmark would reconsider.
I was very disappointed to hear that cedar cove was canceled. I was so looking forward to seeing season 4. You need to bring it back and finish it instead of leaving us hanging with a bunch of questions unanswered.
I have been waiting for the next season I am so disappointed
Very disappointed to hear the show was cancelled. Was looking forward to season 4.
So disappointed in the cancelation. Loved the show. There should be a movie to let us know what happens.
I wish this series did not end. Ive enjoyed being hooked on it! Sorry to see it was cancelled. It was a wholesome program to watch
I’am very disappointed as well. I agree with Colleen to put a two hour program to finish instead of leaving you hanging.
I agree that the show was well written and most of the characters were a pleasure to watch. I think Andie Mcdowell, as beautiful as she is, has lost some of her acting magic. I would have loved to see her character replaced to increase ratings, instead of canceling the whole show.
Wish they had just gone on without her; sending her and Jack to Seattle to live happily ever after. It’s become ever more apparent that she was the reason there is no season 4 (either did not renew contract or there was a big salary rider written in that Hallmark would not pay). She was filing her new ABC pilot last week in NYC; the same week Cedar Cove started filming each year. I for one won’t be watching although in the past she was always one of my favs as disloyal to fans. Perhaps after the replacement flops this… Read more »
