What’s This TV Show About?
Streaming on the Hulu paid subscription platform, Chance stars Hugh Laurie, Ethan Suplee, Greta Lee, Stefania LaVie Owen, Clarke Peters, Brian Goodman, Paul Schneider, Diane Farr, Michael McGrady, and Ginger Gonzaga. The psychological thriller centers on Dr. Eldon Chance (Laurie). A forensic neuropsychiatrist living in San Francisco, Chance finds himself drawn into perilous cases involving his patients. In season two, he is something of a changed man. Whether those changes are because of his traumatic brain injury, or due to the fact that he has killed someone, remain to be seen. Regardless, he and D (Suplee) are now on a crusade to rescue Dr. Chance’s patients from their victimizers.
On January 9, 2018, Chance was cancelled. Could it return in some form? Stay tuned for further updates.
Telly’s Take
Because it they originally issued a two-season order, fans didn’t have to spend the first season wondering whether Hulu would cancel or renew Chance. Season three does not kick off with that certainty. Will the cast and crew want to continue, even if the streaming service is willing? It’s hard to predict the fate of streaming TV shows, unless their platforms decide to publicize their viewership. Although I have no strong gut feeling, I’ll keep an eye on the trades and update this page with breaking developments. Subscribe for free updates on any Chance cancellation or renewal news.

I’m ticked off. Just found this series and binge watched it, only to find out there will be no season three. I thought the character D was phenomenal.
I guess I am in the minority here… Good decision, Hulu. It was a pretty stupid waste of Hugh Laurie – and no one to blame but him – pretty stupid show… bad direction, bad writing, even bad casting- pretty lame.
just watched Chance. Loved it, and it has a lot of places it could go- ending on an up note. Why not bring it back? It has so much potential & the characters are well defined. So many bad shows, this one deserves a chance!

I’m sure anyone who knows Hugh Laurie, knows he will be welcomed. I don’t know what the ratings are, but the writing and production of Chance, is enough to recognise that I can’t believe that a show would be unforgotten by it’s many fans : Like Jesse Stone. If he didn’t have a huge cop show, he would have been making this today. As a new HULU subscriber, what a huge disappointment to find ‘Chance’, only to discover it had been cancelled after two seasons. Especially, since the series is a welcome departure from the boring crime shows so many of us have grown weary of. While series survival is a numbers game, it would be nice if one as well-written and produced as ‘Chance’ would attract the attention it deserves. Bring it back, HULU. Original characters intact.

Why would such a thrilling TV series such as Chance be cancelled? There are such idiotic shows such as the unreal reality shows that should never have been conceived, much less shown on TV! I hope Chance will be back on Hulu or any other syndicated tv programming.

Chance with Hugh Laurie is such an excellent series! We just discovered it and we are disappointed this did not get signed for more seasons! All for starting a petition to start this up again. Such a shame when the good ones are lost to an excessively saturated market….
Chance is a great series! Please consider producing Season 3.
