NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

BRING BACK CHASE……I LOVE THE SHOW. LET’S HOPE COMCAST TAKES ANOTHER LOOK AND CHANGES THE DIRECTION NBC IMPOSED!!
I like the show and watch it. It could use better writers and I suspectb the TX/Houston only location is hurting the viewership.
I waited the two weeks to see Chase again after the two part episode (excellent by the way) and it wasn’t on the air. It was a great show and I will definitely miss the action. I think that because a woman was the star and the action figure, that most people didn’t believe that it was real. Being brought up as a tomboy, and most of the time beating the boys but still being a girl, I felt the show was real and the action was great from the start to the finish. PLEASE, PLEASE someone please find a… Read more »
What is wrong with you people? You obviously didn’t survey anyone that has any taste in tv programs. Replace Chase with minute to win it? Pleeeeeeease. I’m really over NBC.
Loved the show, and disappointed to hear it has been cancel. Replaced by “A Minute to Win It”, totally disgusting.
NBC – Seriously??? Let’s see, first you let Southland (A great show that you gave about 8 episodes to) go. By the way, I watch or DVR it every week on TNT. Now you’re talking about letting Chase go away too. What is with networks? They give a show 1 season and axe it. I know we have a fast food culture, but come on. If they would have done that to Seinfield and it’s meager season 1 ratings do you realize what you would have missed out on? Let me just remind you, millions and millions of dollars. I’d hate to see Chase cancelled. This is a GREAT series! I’m fed up with networks moving shows to new timeslots, or pulling the shows before they can get their momentum.
i am mad that it got canceled i loved the show i really am sad that its not coming back on
Chase is one of the most fun and well written shows on TV. It grabs you instantly. I was really mad to find out the show is on it’s way to being canceled. Why should folks invest anything in a show when networks don’t give them time to find an audience? I agree with Michael, move Chase to USA. This is one of the few shows on right now that I get excited to watch. Please don’t take the show away.
I was surprised to hear that Chase might be cancelled. Although it may be a little far fetched, it happens to be an exciting show. The actors have great chemistry. I think they should give it another chance or perhaps a better time slot.
We love the show too. Stop putting it up against good established shows or try Friday when there is pratically nothing on. NBC is clueless most of the time.
I only watched about 4 of episodes but I loved the show. Bring it back NBC!
My husband and I love this show!!!!!!! Please bring it back. Why is it that networks can never leave a good show alone. This one is a great show with great characters and interactions. Leave it alone and put it back.
What, Chase was slowly becoming my new favorite show. Come on NBC get it together!
Bring Chase back. What’s planned, another stupid reality show?
