NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

Honestly, I liked the show but when it came on Monday at 10 against Hawaii 5O, it lost out and I watched all the episodes on Hulu TV. Then it went to Wednesday at 9..that was opposite American Idol and Steven Tyler…so Hawaii 5O is getting stupid but pick a time when it is not against something that good….Tueday at 8 is okay with me…American Idol isn’t on 2 hours straight now, so go back to Wednesday! NOT Thursday…Greys and Private Practice is on then….Friday everybody is out eating or gone on dates…
THANKS AGAIN NBC. YOU CANCELLED BOSTON LEGAL, C.I., WITH DENOFRIO, AND NOW THINKING OF CHASE. ALL MY FAVORITE SHOWS. AT LEAST DENOFRIO WILL BE BACK. GET A GRIP ON WHAT YOUR PUBLIC LIKES. We LOVE this show! And if you read the comments, the majority of the people all love the show. So how can the ratings be so low??? I’m going to look for that petition to keep the show on the air and sign it. Hope everyone else does too! Maybe they could try a different time slot or schedule it during the summer season.
Chase writing was not good. My 18 yr old daughter watched it with me one night and couldn’t believe how bad the writing was. She left before the end of the show, I just watched to see the Annie jumping roofs and crazy stuff like that. If they sharpened up the writing/dialogue it could be a good show.
Love(d) Chase and very disappointed that it appears to be cancelled. Come on….what was wrong with the show? Give it a chance. Bring it back!
I LOVE this show! It’s so unfortunate that the channel is canceling a very well written set of characters and story line. Please bring it back!
My husband and I enjoyed watching Chase and with the crappy so called reality shows taking up the tv it gave us something to watch together that we both liked. Of course as with anything the show could use a few changes but it was just as good as any other show on tv. I would love to see it come back but if not atleast ended it properly and don’t leave us hanging.

This whole ordeal reminds me of what happened to “Standoff” another great show that got shelfed just like this one is about too. Sign the petition!!!

PLEASE DON’T CANCEL CHASE. EVERYTIME I FIND A GOOD SHOW TO WATCH, IT SEEMS TO GET CANCELLED. I AM SO TIRED OF WATCHING RERUNS OF SHOWS THAT I DIDN’T LIKE TO BEGIN WITH AND NOT A REAL BIG FAN OF SOME OF THESE STUPID REALITY SHOWS. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DON’T CANCEL CHASE!
Seriously, this show is awsome. The people that are not hooked on it must not of seen it. Minute to win it, now thats the show that should be cancelled. Chase Rocks !
Lackluster show with bad writing and boring main characters. During the last few episodes, I actually wanted the “bad guys” to escape. You know your “heroes” are dull, irrelevant, and frosty, when the viewer starts rooting for the other side. Sorry NBC. The fact that there are less than ten comments speaks volumes.
Why did you keep watching so many episodes if you didn’t like it?

I agree, Chase was an awesome show. I can’t belive it was cancelled. Please bring it back! I think too if it was given a different time slot and/or it comes back during the summer when most shows are on break it will probably make it. That is what Flashpoint’s schedule is like and I think that is why it makes out.
I love this show!!! My husband and I are both avid fans. It is intelligent and well acted. I am so sorry to see it in trouble.
