NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

great, show great action, great characters, great script…..what is NBC thinking. Give it some time.
I love that show! How could they just yank it without saying anything!! The last episode that aired was a 2 part! Where is the second part!!! What a crappy deal!
I work many hours and often can’t find a show to get into that is not a reality show. I have watched every episode aired even when it switched nights. My two daughters look forward to it coming on so that we can watch it together. At least put it in one spot and leave it alone, give people a Uychance to watch. Its my favorite show!
Bring back Chase, love this show. Minute to Win It is not even close to a replacement there are no good shows on anymore!!
Great show , guess it doesnt matter what we think . How do they know who is watching this stuff anyway ????? I watch it and lots of my friends do and we have never been asked if we watch it ????
Hard to believe Minute to Win It trumped Chase. I can’t understand that. Chase is good. It needs to be given another chance.
The reason why “Minute to Win It” is beating “Chase” is simple …
(1) There’s really no skill in MTWI. It’s primetime “Price is Right” and probably draws much the same audience.
(2) We are getting dumber as a society.
And yes, “Chase” is a great show: Its nice to see a product that’s not a medical examiner / law drama or lowest-common-denominator sit-com.
This is one of my current favorite shows. There is plenty of outdoor action, interesting characters, and the most evil villains on TV. I guess I never pick the right ones. Event has been on hiatus so long I forgot many of the details. Law & Order: LA has been off since late Nov. Only Lie to Me is still going of my 4 current favorites. I guess the game-show people and a reality folks rule today.
Love the show…..thats why I searched to see what happened to it….bring it back
Chase is an awesome show! Please don’t cancel it.
For once they put a show on that I get into, and then it gets cancelled mid-season.
DON’T CANCEL CHASE. PICK A TIME SLOT AND KEEP IT THERE. NBC: DEVELOP A FOLLOWING AND IT WILL STAY, YOU IDIOTS! CHASE IS A GREAT SHOW WITH GREAT CHARACTERS. ARE YOU KIDDING? CANCEL IT AND PUT ON MINUTE TO WIN IT? REALLY????
KEEP CHASE! IT’S OUR FAVORITE NEW SHOW.
Great show. Don’t know why it didn’t catch on. Love Kelli Giddish. At least air the last ones on the internet.
Chase is a really good show, original. I liked the characters. Replace it with Minute To Win It, you got to be kidding, That Show SUCKS. NBC is going the way of FOX.
Does anyone know if there is any way of seeing the remaining episodes if Chase does get cancelled? This was my favorite show, I’m so mad that they couldn’t even bother airing the episodes that were already made. Its ridiculous that people would rather watch Minute to Win It over this show….ughh
Bring it Back…..What an awesome show…
