NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

Chase is one of my favorites. Moving show times and skipping weeks does not help viewership. The networks seem to be doing that alot this year.
Chase was a good show. NBC should let it run for a full season. Atleast put the remaining episodes on .
This is one of my favorite shows! Please don’t cancel! Find a better time slot!
Please don’t cancel this show. It’s a great show! Find a time slot where it doesn’t air up against regular favorites such as Hawaii Five-O, Castle, and Criminal Minds!
Our family really enjoyed ‘Chase’ and watched it regularly. I thought it was a great show. It will be missed.
Nbc has to be run by a bunch of morons. Chase is one of the best shows they have on their schedule. If they cancel it I will only watch Nbc for days of our lives. I can catch svu on usa and the biggest loser on some channel on Saturdays.
I thought the show was not bad. Althogh Annies heroics seemed a little far feteched
Awesome show. Sad to see it go.
Loved this show. I don’t care what day. I tape it. How could it have not gotten good ratings? The individual charaters were blooming. The story was great. Yep, another awesome show down the drain. Strange.
Please bring it back. Chase is one of my favorites. I love Annie Frost’s fiery spirit and the team charisma. This is so disappointing to me.
I watch Chase every week that it is on, but I have to admit, the storyline seems to be pretty much the same every week. The show moves from one serial killer to another, with the bad guy always outwitting the Marshalls for three quarters of the episode until they finally catch their bad guy. Probably the only reason I stuck with the show is that I really like the gal that plays Annie Frost. Unfortunately, I can see why this show has not caught on. It just another bad cop show. If you compare it to Blue Bloods, the… Read more »
My family and my sisters family just discovered Chase in January and liked it very much. Sorry NBC can not save the shop. I think it would catch on. Many people I talked to did not even know it was on like myself. Push it harder!
