NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.
What do you think? Will you miss Chase? Why do you think it didn’t catch on?

I have never looked up a show to check on its status until now. There is so much junk on TV and finally a great show and the network cancels it which is terrible. I feel bad for Annie and company who are great Actress and Actors. I don’t know what else to say but shameful all the junk on and the quality show gets cancelled.
NBC makes terrible choices when it comes to shows. Remember Leno?. I really like Chase, but find that I am watching NBC less and less. They are turning into ABC, which I never watch. Too bad they can’t be more like CBS.
I will miss it I watch it all the time i was wondering what happen
I love the show’!!
I loved this series. Please bring it back.
I love watching chase and so does my daughter.
She keeps asking when it will be on again. It is
a great show that shows women and girls they
can do any job a man can do. “Annie” is a role
model to my daughter she says now that she wants
to be a US Marshal when she grows up just like Annie.
Give the show a chance the last thing we need is more
episodes of a reality show.
Yes, I will miss Chase…I really liked it!!
I totally love this show and look forward to watching it every week. I can’t believe they caneeled it! Great acting and scripts. What are they thinking with Minute to Win It? NBC replacing good, well done show with stupid show. Typical. Please bring back CHASE!
I tried to get interested in the show. I like adventure shows and dislike the cheaply-made comedies NBC is pushing on the public (go to cable for the better-made adventure shows). This show could not maintain a woman as the lead. Her character is not a strong leading character. Cole Hauser is a leading man and he was wasted in his role as a supporting character to hers. He’s a leading man in wait for a great adventure series. He got a rotten break when K-ville landed on Fox. Adventure series are almost dead in the water there. I think… Read more »
NBC is getting more and more stupider by the day. I like Guy but that show is the dumbest show on television. They should have kept Deal or no deal instead. Chase is a very good show that my girl friend and I both look forward to. Your decision making with the weather channel is so stupid. You have gotten me to the point where I can not now stand Al Roker. I want to watch weather and not Al’s celebrity buddies. You also got to get rid of the simple Stehpanie Abrams. You do have a few good shows,… Read more »
This is great show!! NBC should promote it more heavily and keep it. A MINUTE TO WIN IT is great example of the dumbing of the American public. NBC has lost this viewer!!!
You blew it this time NBC. Chase was one of the best show’s on TV. We looked forward to it every week. The show had some thing new and interesting every time.
Even if you cancel the show, it would be nice for us who watched it to see the shelved episodes. Maybe you could at least have it available on NBC online episodes. There are those of us that would rather watch a good drama then people taking tissues out of a box in so many seconds.
I really liked the series, Chase. At tis point, I am very dissapointed that it is not part of the NBC lineup. I hope it comes back!
I remember when networks would wait to cancel a show to see if people would watch but I guess now they need fast ratings. When Cheers first came on in September 30, 1982, it was nearly cancelled during its first season when it ranked last in ratings for its premiere (77th out of 77 shows).[2] However, Cheers eventually became a highly rated television show in the United States, earning a top-ten rating during eight of its eleven seasons, including one season at #1, and spending the bulk of its run on NBC’s “Must See Thursday” lineup. Its widely watched series… Read more »
