NBC has decided to pre-empt Chase once again but this time it’s looking a lot more permanent. The network has put the TV series on hiatus and replaced it with episodes of Minute to Win It. Though the network has not officially cancelled Chase, there’s certainly no compelling reason for NBC to bring it back.
Back in September, Chase debuted to mediocre ratings and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights for the new year, the ratings only got worse. It’s currently the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
NBC pre-empted Chase this week and replaced it with a double dose of Minute to Win It. That move paid off with the game show literally doubling the demo performance of Chase’s last original episode. Not surprisingly, NBC has now bumped the remaining episodes of Chase from the schedule.
The peacock network had given the show a full season order back in October but by December had trimmed that back from 22 to 18 installments. There are currently five unaired episodes of Chase on the shelf and there’s no word from NBC on when or if they’ll ever be aired.

Man, I liked this show. Monday night was great! When they moved it to Wed. I knew things weren’t gonna be good. Idol comes on that night. NBC can’t put a great show against a show that has been popular in the past. NBC knew this would happen, I am sure they did this on purpose so it would look like Chase was not being watched!!!! I loved Chase, I can’t beleive its may be canceled. I agree sell it to TNT or put it on DVD will all of the 22 episodes. NBC is crap.
My favorite was 24 with Jack Bauer series that was an awesome .Now I was enjoying CHASE cause it remaines me of home why I ask myself.What they need to do is stop putting alot of games shows and reality shows.
Figures… anytime I find a good quality show, it gets the axe. Anything up against Castle wouldn’t have half a chance – NBC was stupid for even trying. Also, how did NBC expect to attract future viewers if they reduce the numbers of episodes, or start bouncing the show around? I am disappointed that NBC is canceled the TV show Chase. I will be watching CBS and not give NBC another thought.
NBC is the absolute worst!!! My family watched Chase every week, even when it changed nights. Maybe CBS should take a look at airing it! I’m disgusted with all the reality???? shows and goofy game shows. Last chance NBC!
I am sooo sick of networks getting rid of great tv shows while keeping idiotic ones on air- I say if nbc won’t keep Chase , I would hope another network would pickit up! It had great writing and kept me on the edge of my seat. I absolutly loved this show! Me and all the girls at work could not wait to talk about it the next day!! It was like a mini movie! I can’t believe that they are going to cancel Chase. That was my favorite show of the new season. If I couldn’t watch it that night, I would TIVO the show to watch the next day. I absolutely love the show and all the characters. I loved Annie’s character. I hope the decision changes and quick. I’d love to see the missing episodes.
I loved that show. It sucks that it got cancelled. NBC should find a night that it will catch attention.
This is very sad. I loved that show. Thought the cast was great, the story was interesting. It’s like Law & Order or another cop show but about the US Marshalls instead of just one city! PLEASE DON’T CANCEL IT!

I can’t believe NBC cancelled another well written show to be replaced with a mindless game show. NBC Please sell Chase to TNT – they aren’t afraid of intelligent programming!
Every time that I get interested in a television show they go and cancel the darn thing. And put crap on instead. Why would viewers watch stupid game shows over a good show? I guess I will never get it.
