We all knew it was coming but now the peacock network has made it official. Chase has been cancelled after one abbreviated season on the air and won’t be back for season two.
Chase follows US Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as she heads up the Houston Enforcement & Apprehension Task Force. Annie and her team (played by Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins, and Jesse Metcalfe) hunt down America’s most dangerous fugitives.
When it debuted in September, Chase scored mediocre ratings at best and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights in 2011, the ratings only got worse and it became the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
In February, NBC pulled the show off the air but wouldn’t say that it was cancelled. Still, we all knew the writing was on the wall. There were five episodes left unaired and last month, the peacock network began burning them off on Saturday nights. If there were any hopes left, the Saturday ratings reports dashed them. New episodes of Chase typically don’t perform any better than reruns of other NBC shows.
The peacock network has now made the cancellation official. Episode 17 airs tonight and the series finale of Chase airs next Saturday night at 8pm.
What do you think? Will you miss watching Chase? Why do you think the series struggled right from the start?

I hope that TNT is smart enough to pick up “Chase” just like they did with “Southland” because “Chase” is such a GREAT show! NBC and whoever is in control of programming have GOT TO STOP HITTING DAT CRACK PIPE…SERIOUSLY!
I LOVED this show! I am PISSED that it got booted!! NBC is bringing on a show called “Are You There Vodka? It’s Me, Chelsea”??? Just the name sounds LAME! They cancel a perfectly GREAT show, Chase and bring on new ones that don’t even look good. NBC never really promoted Chase much, so how could it have lasted? The website would promote a date, then it wouldn’t even air!!! That alone made people lose interest. It kept getting changed to different days too, WITHOUT warning!! I definitely agree with Natalie!! ” We think you should give some more thought… Read more »
Enjoyed this show. NBC put it up against a hipper Hawaii 5-0, but this show had more grit and more realistic story lines. A similar fate was afforded another female US Marshal, “Karen Cisco” (Carla Gugino) ,also on NBC, a few years back. I suspect that if the female audience had stood by this show or Chase, they may have survived.
My husband and I really like Chase and looked forward to watching it when we could find it. We think you should give some more thought to this decision and change your minds. Great show. Great actors. Bad promotion. Bad scheduling.
I love Chase. Bring it back for season 2!!!!
As to previous comment i meant thursday
I really loved watching the show, wed night was not a good night maybe third after csi would be good
NBC is making a mistake! This is a good show and the characters are still developing. It is rated high on my TiVo list to record.
Whose the twit that commented above , Chase is finally cancelled. I hope whoever they are that they get cancelled for being a twitty jerk. I got a 4×4 truck I could run over them with.
They changed the schedule too many times never giving it a real chance. Not much promotion either, if any.
This show got better and better. Poor promotion did it in. So typical. I’ve been watching tv since its inception and the on air shows get worse and are never allowed a chance to find their legs.
this was better than the average cop shows due to the cast–as usual it was jerked around on the schedule that people never got a chance to truly appreciate it–hopefully kelli giddish will get snapped up for another opportunity quickly!
I liked it. Strong female lead.
Chase is a great series and I believe given the opportunity to come back next year at a regular time it would do well. Too bad NBC…you are giving up a good show.
Excuse me! I meant 18-49 demographics.
