We all knew it was coming but now the peacock network has made it official. Chase has been cancelled after one abbreviated season on the air and won’t be back for season two.
Chase follows US Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as she heads up the Houston Enforcement & Apprehension Task Force. Annie and her team (played by Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins, and Jesse Metcalfe) hunt down America’s most dangerous fugitives.
When it debuted in September, Chase scored mediocre ratings at best and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights in 2011, the ratings only got worse and it became the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
In February, NBC pulled the show off the air but wouldn’t say that it was cancelled. Still, we all knew the writing was on the wall. There were five episodes left unaired and last month, the peacock network began burning them off on Saturday nights. If there were any hopes left, the Saturday ratings reports dashed them. New episodes of Chase typically don’t perform any better than reruns of other NBC shows.
The peacock network has now made the cancellation official. Episode 17 airs tonight and the series finale of Chase airs next Saturday night at 8pm.
What do you think? Will you miss watching Chase? Why do you think the series struggled right from the start?

Chase was my favorite show on NBC. I loved the action, and enjoyed how it represented Houston and TX. Hope you guys rethink the cancellation. Good show with good actors.
This was the best show……it’s hard to get the ratings when you air on the same nights as 2 of the most popular reality series….Monday’s being the bachelor and wednesdays being american idol…..this sucks! Another tv station should pick this drama up, as the story lines are more realistic than all of the other police related dramas….again pretty disappointed
Of course the ratings would have went downhill on Wednesday, Idol was running at the same time slot. I doubt any new show does well on Wednesday night against Idol. But its cool because now I don’t have a reason to tune into a network I don’t watch anyway. Thank God for cable programming.
[…] TV show dates: September 20, 2010 – May 21, 2011 Series status: Cancelled […]
Well I don’t know why Chase didn’t have a bigger following but I really liked it and will miss not seeing it for second season. I wish that cable would pick it up but I guess at this time that isn’t going to happen.
I look forward to the next episode of Chase all the time. Cole Hauser & Kelli Giddish have great screen chemistry . Finally something worth watching amidst all the mindless “reality” shows . NBC is short-sighted. Why can’t another cable show pick it up?
I LOVED this show and I am so disappointed in NBC for not giving it enough time or advertising to let people know about it! I hope that another network picks it up, ABC, CBS or FX,TNT. Would love to see this show continue. NBC – your off my list of channels to watch.
This show was fast paced with great story lines. The actors fit also. NBC should be cancelled they don’t have a clue.
SAVE CHASE !!!!!! WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!!!!!!
Annie, Annie, Annie…..farewell my sweet.
Gone before you could’ve bloomed.
The chase is over, it has ended in defeat
as my unrequited love for your show is doomed.
I loved the show—always take the good ones off—put it in a good time slot.
NBS is going down the tube. Chase was a good show and I enjoyed watching it on Saturdays and Mondays! The only thing I watch on NBC now is Harry’s Law and Parenthood. I used to watch it more than other channels. Not any more.
i thoroughly enjoyed the show esp the characters. NBC has worse shows by far. I hope FX or another network picks it up!!!!!
NBC sucks. I like Chase and the Event. I saw NBC’s new schedule. I won’t be watching anything they have.
TNT or USA should pick up CHASE and THE EVENT! NBC is such a LOSER Station! Those were 2 of the BEST shows that the “peacock” had on! GIMME A BREAK!
