We all knew it was coming but now the peacock network has made it official. Chase has been cancelled after one abbreviated season on the air and won’t be back for season two.
Chase follows US Marshall Annie Frost (Kelli Giddish) as she heads up the Houston Enforcement & Apprehension Task Force. Annie and her team (played by Cole Hauser, Amaury Nolasco, Rose Rollins, and Jesse Metcalfe) hunt down America’s most dangerous fugitives.
When it debuted in September, Chase scored mediocre ratings at best and things went quickly downhill from there. On Monday nights, Chase averaged just a 1.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and a meager 5.44 million viewers. When the series moved to Wednesday nights in 2011, the ratings only got worse and it became the lowest-rated scripted series on the network.
In February, NBC pulled the show off the air but wouldn’t say that it was cancelled. Still, we all knew the writing was on the wall. There were five episodes left unaired and last month, the peacock network began burning them off on Saturday nights. If there were any hopes left, the Saturday ratings reports dashed them. New episodes of Chase typically don’t perform any better than reruns of other NBC shows.
The peacock network has now made the cancellation official. Episode 17 airs tonight and the series finale of Chase airs next Saturday night at 8pm.
What do you think? Will you miss watching Chase? Why do you think the series struggled right from the start?

This really stinks! I agree with the others, this show wasn’t given a chance. I just happened to come across the show while flipping through the channels. Maybe if the show was strongly promoted (like with the stupid reality TV shows) then the show would have had a better chance. Thanks for getting my interest in a show and then shutting it down.
Why is it that every time they come out with a good show its cancel without a freaking ending which makes it worst. I hate this ******** the head dogs of the corp should be put 2 sleep.
this is why nbc really stands for no brains corporation
Does everyone think the general public wants to watch moronic reality “fake” TV shows & crap like In It To Win it garbage. Southland cancelled also… the mind boggles. The only decent stuff you have & it’s canned. You deserve to sink.
I will not be tuning in to NBC… you have NOTHING to offer. You suck!
I agree with Kea i wish NBC would give it a chance i really enjoy it
This is extremely disappointing news, but just like “Southland” (another NBC show that was cancelled prematurely) went on to find phenomenal success on TNT, I’m hoping “Chase” will do the same. It truly was a quality show and it’s unfortunate that NBC didn’t give it much of a chance.
I loved the show could not wait for it too return, it’s a shame we have so many stupid shows that are a waste of time and this show had good action we need more of that. Annie was great, you should have had a 2 hour show at least to end this year “sad” another good show gone…………..
It’s too bad Chase was canceled. NBC doesn’t at all get it. I know for them it’s a numbers game. They come up with a great series that hasn’t had a chance to build a following and they put it up against a long standing show on another network expecting some sort of impossible miracle the world will stampede to NBC to watch. What they don’t seem to get is that it takes time to build an audience, especially on NBC. What the average viewer of NBC or NBC doesn’t know is what comprises a good show. What all the… Read more »
oops sp????? Ha ha still changing net works though!
I hate this! I am mad! eberytime a GOOD shaow apears there it goes out the door for some discusting sit come or rediculous< reality show! Feb up and now changing networks!
I was shocked to hear that Chase has been given the axe…but I now realize that good, entertaining dramas are out all together in most cases while reality tv will continue to reign supreme…we are driven to cable and satellite whether we like or not, since prime time programming is now, in my opinion, strictly for the birds. p.s. In the late 80s to early 90s, Chase would have been a hit…and Annie, a heroine.
I can’t believe you would cancel a great show like Chase. I thought the writing was great, the characters awesome, never a dull moment. You move shows around & don’t give them a chance to gain an audience. It would be great if TNT or TBS or Lifetime would pick up this show.
Just finished watching the last episode, would have been nice to see how far Jimmy and Annie’s relationship would have gone…And to have Daisy back on the team, too.Oh well,it’s all gone downhill since Outlaw left!!Just found out Law & Order LA is leaving, too.C’mon Terrance Howard?? Who’s in charge of programming??Instead of you waiting for a rating,by Nielsen, give the people what they want!!!!Some of us don’t have that black box,and the majority that do, don’t make up the whole United States…Hope your new shows were worth it!! Isn’t funny, though, how many people on here liked the show, makes you wonder…..
I really think this stinks! Everytime NBC finds a good show, it gets canceled. Who are
these Neilsen families anyway?!! We still have “Minute to Win It ” for goodness sake.
Then there’s “Community”, Trump, and a few others . Has TV gotten that brainless?
A few of us would really appreciate NBC’s retaining a show with a plot for once. I’m
starting to think maybe I should move to CBS, at least they keep NCIS in the schedule.
i CAN’T BELIEVE THAT NBC CANCELED A GREAT SHOW. IT WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY MONDAY NIGHT. SUCH A PITY. THAT’S WHY I DON’T REALLY LOOK AT TOO MANY THINGS ON NBC ANYMORE. THEY KEEP ON CANCELING ALL THE GOOD SHOWS. GET A CLUE GUYS, THAT’S WHY Y’ALL KEEP LOSING RATINGS.
