The network giveth and the network taketh away.
Even though the Chase series performed poorly right from the start, NBC gave the TV show a full season order of 22 episodes. Now, the peacock network has trimmed back that order to just 18 installments.
On the positive side, NBC is moving Chase out of the Mondays at 10pm timeslot. It’ll no longer have to battle against Castle and the new Hawaii Five-0. Unfortunately, beginning January 12th, it’ll be airing in a far more competitive timeslot. Chase is moving to Wednesdays at 9pm where it’ll do battle with American Idol.
The most recent episode of Chase garnered a 1.6 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 6.03 million total viewers. That’s the second significant increase in two weeks but the series is still doing terribly and is consistently in a distant third place for the timeslot.
Chase has averaged a 1.6 rating for the season, just slightly better than now-cancelled Undercovers. Unless there’s a significant turnaround, it’s pretty clear that Chase will be cancelled at the end of the season.
What do you think? Does Chase still have a chance to be renewed for season two or is it already doomed to be cancelled?

How could anyone love this show? The acting is cheesy at best, far over done and the writing is some of the worst I’ve ever seen. Just another show about a ninty pound woman that can kick anyones ass she chooses. I haven’t been able to stomach another second of this show since she managed to over power Robert Knepper while floating down a river. Then a log shows up for her to beat him over the head with. Come On!
T-Bag should have done us all a favor and just drown Annie in that river.
Annie Frost is the most idiotic character ever developed for TV, from his tuff guy talk to the fact that “Annie’s tuff and wears boots so they call him ‘boots’ as a nickame”. Stupid show. Horrible writing. Poor acting. And the leadingman who plays Annie is a bad actror.
I agree with others. It is a great show. American have been subjected to a make it or break mentality. Some of the great shows that are canceled at the expense to the lame sexuality oriented shows. Please keep
I absolutely love the series Chase. Please do not cancel it all together. It just needs time to capture an audience, and I enjoy watching it.
The mindless garbage that is on TV now makes me want to puke! They finally get one good show, and they want to cut it guess everyone want’s to watch a bunch of fat people lose weight instead! Just goes to show you how mindless the American people have become!
Love the show—Please reconsider!!!
My husband and I never miss a episode of CHASE and we love it – will be very disappointed if cancelled. The network better wake up as they will be losing a great show. Give it some hipe like Law and Order gets and see what happens. The recent viewers do not watch is that do not know what they are missing.
I LOVE IT!¡ Watched every episode. Will b crushed if they cancle it. SO WATCH CHASE EVERYONE!!!!!
I like the actors and series
don’t cancel or i’ll go back to cbs
Chase is THE ONLY SHOW I WATCHED ON NBC. ABC is the king of reality crap in the prime time line up. CBS rules because they don’t pull shows that don’t “perform” quickly enough to make the suits happy in the ivory towers. How many shows gain an audience during the summer rerun season???? How many shows start weak but build up steam? GIVE THE SHOW A CHANCE. STOP PLAYING THE SHELL GAME WITH THE SCHEDULE WHERE EVEN THE FAITHFUL VIEWERS CAN’T FIND IT!!! Every fall more and more reality crap is added to the menu for us on all… Read more »
We LOVE Chase! It is fast action, with some great characters. NBC, keep it going!
I like chase. It just hasn’t found the right time slot. I watch 5 O too but always catch chase too. Thank goodness for on demand. I hope you consider those numbers in your overall ratings. Keep chase on!
NBC should have NOT put it on Monday night in the timeslot they put it in. Chase is GREAT! I love the show. Give it a chance NBC! You will always be #3 if you keep canceling shows without giving them a chance! Now you are going to put it up against American Idol! Why??? It’s like you want it to fail. Put it in a decent timeslot where people can watch it. It has started to do better in the last two weeks so it’s starting to build an audience. Many successful shows have needed time to build an… Read more »
This is by far the BEST show that has come out in years. The writting is excellent, love that it takes place in Texas and Annie and company are excellent. I can’t believe other idiot shows stay on and they may cancel one of the best by far.
Chase is NBC’s brightest offering this year, much better than the over-hyped Lost wannabe, The Event. Annie Frost is a breath o fresh air, a genuinely likeable character whose whose greatest and most relatable flaw is a single-minded obsession to let no elon escape, even at the risk of placing herself and, accordingly, her team, at personal risk. I’ve been looking forward to her struggle to find an acceptable balance.
And I love her sense of humor.
This show must survive the heavy-handed NBC axe.
