Last season, it looked like Chicago Fire was going to be cancelled but then the ratings started to perk up. NBC renewed it for a second season and gave it an incredibly strong lead-in, The Voice. Will it become a hit or end up being cancelled instead? Time will tell.
As the title suggests, Chicago Fire follows the personal and professional lives of those working for the Chicago Fire Department. The cast includes Jesse Spencer, Taylor Kinney, Charlie Barnett, Monica Raymund, Lauren German, Eamonn Walker, and David Eigenberg.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/19 update: NBC has renewed this show for the 2014-15 season.
Final season averages: 2.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 7.46 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The first season of Chicago Fire averaged a 1.8 rating in the demo and 6.59 million viewers.
Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the Chicago Fire TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a third season?
I LOVE CHICAGO FIRE & CHICAGO PD!!!! Would be soooooooooo sad & disappointed of either of these are cancelled.
The best show ever this needs to go on!!!!!
I love both Chicago Fire and Chicago PD and I love the way they weave together. I can see a “Chicago ER” coming out of the crossed episodes since they introduced us to a few key characters. Most programs I watch a week later “On Demand, ” but I try to watch these in real time. Keep them on, please!
I love Chicago Fire. The actors and actresses that make up the interesting characters get you emotionally involved in their on the screen lives. I hope the 3rd season is also a hit. NBC is notorious for cutting good series like TRAUMA, Taylor Kinney was in that also and was one of my favorite characters.
I am truly addicted to Chicago Fire! NBC would be mad to cancel such a fantastic all round show!!! Please please keep Chicago Fire coming!
My husband & I don’t watch a lot of TV, however we are hooked on Chicago Fire, and we also like how Chicago PD is being joined together with Chicago Fire. Please do what you can to keep these shows on the air. We are also Voice fans so the timing off the shows are perfect.
THANK YOU
Chicago fire and PD have me wanting to watch TV again..
Our family loves Chicago Fire. The casting is so great and the story lines are remarkable. Here’s hope ;you will bring it back for a 3rd. season.
hi again
Save it!!!!!!!!!!
Chicago Fire is a show my wife and I watch. The writing is mind blowing. The characters are complex like in Chicago P D. If either show gets cancelled, NBC needs to rethink what is inadequate and what is truly must see tv.
Will be watching Chicago Fire and The Blacklist. Person of Interest has “Jumped the Shark”, killed off the Lady Cop, and gone wacko sci-fi.
This is a really good show…….I am hooked. Please keep this show. Love the casting and the acting is superb.
Please renew to third season, great and amazing show will be hoping for the third season, will like to see more about Detective Erin Lindsay and Lituentant Kelly severide on Chicago fire
Great show! Please renew it. One if the few shows on tv that I really enjoy watching. Love the characters
KEEP THE SHOW!!!! If worse comes worse, move it to a different channel! BUT KEEP KEEP KEEP IT! GREAT SHOW ON NBC RIGHT NOW!!
