It seems NBC has had enough of justice in the “Windy City.” Deadline reports the Chicago Justice TV show is cancelled; there will be no season two of the legal drama series.
The latest in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, Chicago Justice follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. The NBC cast includes Philip Winchester, Carl Weathers, Monica Barbaro, Joelle Carter, and Jon Seda.
Chicago Justice: A Look at the Ratings
Despite the success of the Peacock network’s other Chicago series, Chicago Justice struggled in the ratings during its first season. The show, which premiered in March, has only earned an average rating of 1.13 in the 18-49 demo, averaging 6.202 million viewers over the course of its first season. While these aren’t terrible numbers, they do make Chicago Justice the lowest-rated of the Chicago series. Maybe viewers have had enough of the “Windy City,” too.
What do you think? Are you a fan of Chicago Justice? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC?
Cindy McLennan contributed to this report.
I hope this cancellation doesn’t affect the launch of Chicago Sanitation. I’m really looking forward to that one.
Chicago Sanitation is a joke jajajaja.
I’m surprised, considering for a Sunday show, ratings weren’t bad. It was the only of the 4 Chicago series I stuck with, & I would’ve kept watching, even though it was kind of a weaker Law & Order type show. Been a fan of Winchester since Strike Back.
Did you know that there is, allegedly, going to be a revamp of Strikeback? I hope it is true, and with the cancellation of ‘Justice’…maybe Winchester can wangle his way back in! That is up there in my all time favourite programs.
Another excellent show cancelled. It blended so well with the other 3 series. I am getting fed up with CBS. They don’t give a show any time to catch on.
Seeing as this is on NBC I don’t think CBS cares.
cbs would be a perfect home for this show: Saturdays 8pm, followed by ransom-season 2. of all the wolf-produced series, this one could stand on its own, without cross-over episodes.
Roger Moore has passed at 89, Philip you got my VOTE AS THE NEXT JAMES BOND 007! Who’s with me? I think he’ll make a perfect 007 he’s got the look, age, accent all going for him. Leave the small screen Philip get on the Bond Franchise pronto!
This was a great show just slow to build up, it should have been a summer series 8-13 eps and not compete again seasoned Sunday night veteran Fall shows.
Obviously Jessica doesn’t like Chicago. Justice was a decent show that with some time could have been a really good show. This is a mistake by NBC, considering some of the crap they did renew.
While i feel bad for winchester this gives me hope that he will return to strike back for the reboot as he already wanted to guest star
My sentiments exactly.
I’m a little bit shocked that this show was CANCELLED! It had better ratings than Shades of Blue. Much better ratings. I thought they would make some changes, but not end it. Oh well.
3rd series cancelled after 1 year for Winchester, guy has no luck.
I tried to watch but it was a poor imitation of L&O.
But shows that did much worse in the ratings… “Timeless”, “Taken”, “Blindspot”, “Trial & Error”, “Good News” and “The Blacklist” get renewed.
Big fan Chicago Fire original show and the blacklist please don’t let end really great show because like to record ratings down that why but should watch on air it better than record watch later on different day.
SHADES OF BLUE! Don’t forget SHADES OD BLUE!
YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING!!! THIS IS A GREAT SHOW WITH A FANTASTIC CAST… & YOU WON’T GIVE IT A CHANCE? I suggest you reconsider… better yet… cancel some of the other awful shows you’re keeping.
we watch it every week and enjoy it. But we don;t matter, we are65
I watch each episode. It us extremely good and great to watch. Where are you ratings from. Everyone I speak with watches it the same as my hubby and I do. Never miss it. Someine needs to reconsider and keep it for our Season 2.
I was becoming a fan slowly but I do understand why they’re cancelling it ..
However, Jon Seda’s (Antonio Dawson) MUST go back to PD! He’s an OUTSTANDING actor & truly the ONLY reason I decided to give it a try …
Please don’t cancel. Really enjoying this show
