TV show description:
The fourth series in Dick Wolf’s Chicago franchise, the Chicago Justice TV show follows the prosecutors and investigators who make up the State’s Attorney’s team. In order to pursue justice, these professionals must negotiate the choppy waters of city politics.
Armed with a resolute respect for the law, they work the Windy City’s most consequential cases. Often under intense media scrutiny, the team must be mindful of both prevailing community sentiment and political power grabs.
The ambitious Peter Stone (Philip Winchester) is the dogged Deputy Chief of the Special Prosecutions Bureau. To him, the quest for justice is more than a job; it’s a purpose.
A single-minded man, Stone often goes head-to-head with Mark Jefferies (Carl Weathers). As Cook County State’s Attorney, Mark must be politically minded. While his mantra is that a good prosecutor gives the jury and the public a well-defined narrative, Peter believes the law is not always best served by crisp sound bites.
Despite their differences, Stone and Jefferies aspire to usher in a new age of justice to the City by the Lake. Their team includes the ardent Assistant State’s Attorney, Anna Valdez (Monica Barbaro). Still new enough to be malleable, Anna will bend the rules to get the proper results.
There’s also the tenacious Laura Nagel (Joelle Carter). This empathetic State’s Attorney Investigator looks at her cases through the victims’ eyes.
Finally, there is Chief Investigator Antonio Dawson (Jon Seda). A former by-the-book detective in the Chicago P.D.’s intelligence unit, Antonio worked his way up to the State’s Attorney’s office.
Series Finale:
Episode #13, “Tycoon”
Stone, Valdez, Nagel and Antonio go after a billionaire real estate tycoon who may be responsible for his son-in-law’s sudden death at a construction site. (Courtesy NBC.)
First aired: May 14, 2017.
What do you think? Do you like the Chicago Justice TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for a second season on NBC? Tell us.
Chicago Justice is a borderline good show that needs some revision. The Carl Weathers character is unrealistic…too stoic…and not pleasant to watch or listen to. He needs to go. Winchester and Seda are terrific, but the “blonde” from Justified is void of personality, As great as she was on Justified, she is that bad here. I don’t know if it is her or the writing, but she adds nothing to the cast. I hope the show gets a 2nd chance and does some cast revisions….there is enough of a base to get it off the ground.
It needs to do something to keep it going. Of the 4 Chicago’s, this is my least favourite. It is so tame, I just find myself drifting when it’s on, it really has no fire.
PLEASE LEAVE THIS SHOW ON!!! I look forward to this fabulously written legal drama on Sunday night.. I’m a huge fan of all the Chicago shows & this one is up there with the rest of them.
Finally an intelligent legal drama! I’m in. Hope it comes back.
Philip Winchester is wonderful (all his character are)! Peter is magic! Of course we want many other Chicago Justice seasons!!!
If is possibile in Italy too..
This is the one show I look forward to on Sunday nite! I am drawn to this lawyer drama….especially drawn to Peter Stone character…he is a strong force in this series! Don’t know the actor who plays Stone…but watching g him in court room is awesome! Other cast is well played..with creative story lines. So I hope this series is renewed! Thank you!
Have loved & been a loyal follower of all of Dick Wolf’s shows, but Chicago Justice Falls short of good stories & good acting! So disappointed in the story lines & especially the cast! John Seda is great as usual, bot Carl Weathers is awful! His character has a perpetual frown & no warmth! Does he ever smile??? He’s a nay sayer too!! And the Monica Barbara character seems too young for the role! No chemistry either with Winchester either!! Too bad Seda left Chicago PD!! His great acting skills are not being used effectively here. This program can GO!!!!!
Sensationalism…stop watching…weak…revenge law…WTH…judge says no…and lets do the back door lobby…CANCEL !!! Show twisted !!!
My entire family loves all the Chicago shows. And that includes the newest Chicago Justice. I hope they stay on for a long long time.
I like all the Chicago’s shows with all the garbage on TV now shows are great.
I was presently surprised with Sunday’s show, where for a moment I thought this show was just another show for the left to exploit TV, I must say I found it refreshing that it covered both sides with minimal prejudice.
Loved all the episodes so far.
just saw Sunday’s show, was very upset at the taking of the Lord’s name in vain.
Love love love this show. All the Chicago series are wonderful!
Love Chicago Justice – love all the “Chicago” shows and hope they’re around for a long while
love chicago justice

Love Dick Wolf shows…Chicago Justice is missing something. Have watched all eposides – and can’t get excited about this show. Maybe scripts should not be so bland.
I think the lead character is very boring…I thought when Antonio went to that show it was for a different leadership and he would be cast as so…. I love all of Dick Wolf shows but this casting needs some fire and so does the writing…
Love all the “Chicago” series. They all have a special connection with each other.
Chicago Justice was a perfect addition , along with Chicago Med.
People who are responsible for the cancellation of these series should be let go.
They don’t look after the public interest.
