TV show description:
This gritty medical drama revolves around an Emergency Room in Los Angeles where underfunding and understaffing pile huge pressure on its staff. A “code black” is issued when the ER no longer has the manpower, capacity or equipment to operate effectively.
Doctor Leanne Rorish (Marcia Gay Harden) is the ER Residency Director. She’s a brilliant doctor and an experienced professional who often has to resort to her intuition as opposed to standard medical procedures in order to save lives. She reminds her staff that life is measured in split seconds and a moment of hesitation can be the difference between life and death.
On the flip side to Leanne’s risk-taking is Doctor Neal Hudson (Raza Jaffrey) who is constantly at odds with her cavalier attitude.
Leanne’s confidante is Senior Nurse Jesse Salander (Luis Guzman) who’s seen it all at the country’s most notorious ER. His job is to manage the residents. Like the other technicians, doctors and nurses, he is facing a daily battle to save lives under immense pressure.
Mario Savetti (Benjamin Hollingsworth), Christa Lorenson (Bonnie Somerville), Angus Leighton (Harry Ford) and Malaya Pineda (Melanie Chandra) are all first-year residents coming to terms with the harsh realities of their chosen profession.
Episode #47 — Business of Saving Lives
Angels Memorial descends into chaos when a plane crashes into the eighth floor. Also, it is up to Mario to save Noa’s life when she has a car accident. In addition, Willis admits to Rox that he needs her in his life, and the doctors gather in court to support Leanne for her custody hearing.
First aired: July 18. 2018.
What do you think? Do you like the Code Black TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Please do not cancel Code Black. I look forward to it. Only conflict is that it’s on Wednesday night, which is church night. Consider moving it to another night, please!
Don’t cancel Code Black, it is one of the best medical dramas in years.
MY HUSBAND AND I LOVE BLACK LIST. IS THERE ANY WAY TO HAVE THE SHOW RENEWED FOR SEASON 4? IT IS A GREAT SHOW!!!
Keep the show. It is a great show!
Love this show!!! What are you thinking? Utter garbage is kept on season after season yet a quality show like this is cancelled. I would like whoever is in charge of this idiotic decision to personally call me and explain the reason for this basically stupid decision. I am outraged.
As usual CBS makes the most unacceptable decisions about their networking. Who or whom ever is responsible for these decisions apparently is lacking the knowledge of what it truly is like in this type of environment. Code Black was spot on with its story line and your damn statistics and numbers should not always rule dropping a program. Give it another year…..there are so many of us medical people that can relate to this programming. I would really like to have an answer to my thoughts that I have given you without you trying to bow air up my skirt… Read more »
I love this show. One of the best on tv. I so tired of all the old shows coming back on. Code black is a great show. Hope CBS reconciders.
I love this show!! Why is it all the good shows get canceled? This makes me very sad.
CBS this is a great show! I enjoy all the Chicago shows, but this show is by far my favorite. Big mistake canceling this show. It has everything a great cast, great action and stories, and most importantly good cast chemistry in their stories and flow.
I am so sad that they are canceling this show. I really enjoy it.
Please do not cancel Code Black. It is one of the best shows on television today. Not much on television is engaging enough that I make a pointed effort to watch every episode, but Code Black I do not miss—period! Again, don’t cancel this series!
I am deeply saddened by tis news , usually CBS has the best line up of the longest lasting series .I am really disappointed in their chose , I am a die hard CBS watcher and hope you will reconsider and keep this show .
Please reconsider cancelling Code Black. I really love this show and all the characters on it. It has only ever been on in the summer. It is a well done interesting show.
Can’t understand why they are cancelling this fantastic show. Can’t the producers make a deal with another channel/netflix/ whatever it takes to keep this quality show on. The acting is great, the story lines are believable and it makes being in the “Code Black” area of any hospital human. Bad move CBS!
Love this show! Why was it cancelled.
