A day before the network’s official upfront presentation for advertisers, CBS has cancelled Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior. The spin-off will end after just one season.
Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior follows a highly-trained team of agents who operate within the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU). They use unique and hard-hitting tactics to bring down some of the country’s most dangerous felons. The TV series stars Forest Whitaker, Janeane Garofalo, Michael Kelly, Beau Garrett, Matt Ryan, and Kirsten Vangsness.
While spin-off NCIS: Los Angeles got off to an immediate great start back in 2009, the same can’t be said for CBS’ latest spin-off, Suspect Behavior. In February, it debuted to a 3.3 rating in the all-important 18-49 demographic and 13.06 million viewers. That was a solid start but then the second episode dropped 27% to a 2.4 rating and 9.8 million. By the fourth episode, it had fallen to a 2.2 demo rating.

The ratings have gone up and down a bit over the course of the season but has gone as low as a 2.1 in the demo a couple times. It currently averages a 2.4 rating and 9.84 million viewers, more than a whole point below its lead-in and parent series, Criminal Minds. Those numbers put it squarely on the bubble for renewal.
There was talk about bringing Suspect Behavior back for another round, possibly after doing a revamp, but the network’s decided against it. They likely have other procedurals waiting in the wings that believe can do better so CBS has cancelled Suspect Behavior after one season.
A baker’s dozen of episodes have been produced and so far, 11 of them have aired. The remaining two are expected to run tomorrow and next Wednesday night, May 25th, as previously scheduled.
The series finale is called “Death by a Thousand Cuts” and finds the team tracking a serial killer who randomly shoots people in crowded areas.

I just found the show on netflix, I am a great fan of Criminal Minds, so when SB came along I watched all 13 shows in one sitting so excited. But how can you cancel this SHOW WITH A CLIFF HANGER!!!!

I was so into this show. I think it was the best show with Forest Whitaker as lead FBI special agent. It was brilliant acting. Forest was so perfect for this character as it did for Jack “Kiefer Sutherland” on 24. Hate to see the show end like this. CBS, please bring back the show.
For whatever reason this show was cancelled, it is clear it was NOT cancelled becasue it lacked a huge fan base. Nor was it cancelled because the show was dull or riddled with juvenile diologue. It would seem that the men & women at the network decided the show should be replaced with a mind-numbing reality show of which we seem to have far too many already. I’m from Denmark and I loved it so much I liked this team and it’s not fair for the people who watched it and everybody asks themselves what happened with Beth! it’s not fair to end it with a Chliffhanger… I’m sad :’(
I kept looking for the start of Season 2 of Suspect Behavior but found nothing. Today, I see this. What a disappointment!

I am a fan of the original CM,i liked that they made a spin off with a great actor like Forrest ,but i just not could get in to this one and iam not surprised that it got scrapped by the network because it just didnt get any good in my opinion.
Really can’t believe this show got cancelled. I got hooked on it after the show had premiered and I’ve been looking forward to it’s new episodes only to find out it was cancelled. BRING IT BACK!!!!

i think it’s a mockery to hook the views with 13 seasons and then end it like that with no continuation. If they decide to continue it will be so long, that everyone will have forgotten about the show and the thrill of watching it will be gone – replaced by disappointment.
Wonder how actors like Forest Whitaker support such a sarcastic decision.
me and partner are from the uk. we were dubious about this spin off after the 1st couple of eps but after that we continued to watch and enjoyed it thoroughly!! the cliff hanger was a bad place to suddenly cancel a show! please bring it back the people in the uk want to see season 2!!!!

After watching ALL 13 amazing episodes and with such a cliff hanger ending this series I immediately looked for season 2 and yet again they have cancelled such a brillaint series, they all complain about the ratings then they should think about the advertising as I stumbled across this series accidently, shame on you CBS !!!
Exactly! I didn’t even know this series existed until i looked up the regular Criminal Minds on Netflix (which they don’t have) and found this series instead. Which i will say is one of the BEST series’s i have ever seen and i’m so mad that they cancelled the show before they could show what happened. i wish CBS would bring it back!!!
