France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Picked it up on Netflix & loved it. It needs another season
I had first watched this on Netflix never heard of it before that. I do hope NBC picks it up but if not I would watch it where ever it plays this is a GREAT SHOW. Lets hope it does get picked up buy some network so we can enjoy watching it
I first watched the show on Netflix I had never heard of it before that. but now that I watched it I hope NBC does pick it up but if not where ever it comes on I would watch it GREAT SHOW
I loved Season I and have already sent NBC a message asking when it would return this summer. If it goes to a cable channel, that is okay – I’d watch it there. It is a great show and I’m looking forward to Season II.
Definitely need to see season 2!
I enjoyed Season I and look forward to Season II. It is good to see an internationally acclaimed show on U.S. TV. Interesting take on crime detection in the context of the EU.
Yes, I wld watch it on cable.
I loved the show and couldn’t wait for the second season. When I didn’t hear anything later about it I looked it up and saw they were taking a break but would come back for one more season. I was disappointed but at least would get one more season. I don’t understand what is wrong with Americans today who’d rather watch Reality TV, the Voice, Dancing with the Star’s rather than a decent detective show!!!
I’m excited!!
What is there to think about? Hello! Just one of the best shows ever! I would watch the program no matter where it airs!
Again a well written, well acted, well produced show with great characters is having trouble. Maybe the TV execs should figure out that not everyone watches TV shows on the broadcast dates but watches them via Hulu, Netflix or Amazon. Advertisers should figure out that the plus 50 crowd has and spends more money than the 18-49 crowd. So perhaps the TV ratings process should expand their age classification.
They should definitely renew season two of crossing the lines.
I just discovered the series and love it. I am invested in the characters and want to knw what happens next.
Please renew Crossing Lines. It is well written, well acted and a very sophisticated show. I love the international setting. My husband and I will watch it wherever it airs.
Please renew Crossing Lines! It is one of the best drama shows on TV. Most of TV today is garbage-blood & guts, sex and reality TV. There are not a lot of good programs with good storylines, drama and suspense. Soon there will be no TV to watch!
Please renew Crossing Lines, you could put it on any station but Netflix, we don’t do Netflix.
ABSOLUTELY! Great show, strong cast, and intriguing stories. Big mistake if NBC doesn’t pickup the season for broadcasting.
I loved it and hope it comes back at least on Cable
Please renew crossing lines I really enjoyed it last season too. The plots keep you guessing and seeing international locations is great. I enjoy the characters and can’t wait to see what happens next
