France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Please bring it back
I thought Crossing Lines was an insightful, clever show and hope you air it thia year
Yes bring the show back! Waiting for the show again 2014.
Just watched the series on Netflix. As with so many shoes, never saw advertisement for items it must have come on at a time I was unable to view it. Fell in love with it. Please somebody bring it back. loved the characters and the suspense
*pardon my smarts$$ phone, shows not shoes.
Please bring back crossing lines! One if the best ever series!
Bring the show back. Loved it, looking forward to seeing more.
Great tv series. Great plot and character development caries through each episode. Better than Homeland which I enjoyed very much. It would be a shame not to pick this one up. Maybe it’s too sophisticated for an American audience but we Canadians love it.
Great series. So sad that the sophisticated-complex series draw few viewers. Hoping season two comes back somewhere or will be streamed by amazon/netflix.
Great show, therefore not at all surprised NBC will probably choose not to renew it. I gave up on the “Big 3 networks” long ago! My husband and I will search and continue looking for Season 2. It’s quality shows like this that keep me paying my Netflix dues every month and avoiding the junk that the neworks put on year after year.
Crossing lines is a very good production, the actors are first rate! I hope the series returns to the states or at least Netflix, where I viewed season 1.
Love this show! Please keep it going!!!!!
The show was exciting and had a lot of adventure for catching criminals. I would definitely want the show to continue.
MM
