France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Love the show I hope some channel picks it up in US
Loved the show and would definitely watch a second season. Can’t wait for further updates!
I would watch it on either NBC or USA. If it doesn’t run on either, I’ll get the DVD from France when it comes out and binge watch it. I have to do that often enough given the horrible quality of most domestic US TV, especially on the legacy networks.
I watched the first season and would absolutely watch the second.
Absolutely should be renewed fabulous show. If not aired on ABC I will watch it whatever channel it is on.
The show is great and should be aired. I don’t think the ratings accurately reflect as many people record the shows and that doesn’t show in the ratings. However, there is a reason it is so popular over seas. Keep the show please!!!
My spouse and I watched season I of Crossing Lines with great interest. With episode 10 we were left hanging with many questions about all of the characters!! Please bring us season II !
I vote for season 2 ( and 3)
I loved this show and would love to see where it goes please bring it back
I really enjoyed the show and watched all episodes in two days. I hope there will be a second season. I have recommended it to several people.
Love this show, watched the whole season on a flight home from LA (16 hours). Can’t wait for the next season!
Great show! Waiting for the new season to return.
Great show! I have been looking for the date of return.
Great show and will watch it on any network.
This is a great show. The writing, acting, and locations are very well done. The concept is fresh and very interesting . Unlike half of what NBC has considered air worthy, this show is the exception. I will watch this show on whatever network it is shown on over what NBC airs on any given night. Please give the public more interesting and intelligent choices on television instead of some of the trash that is on now.
This is one of the best keep it
