France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Good show. Nice to see something besides NY and California on TV. Gives a different view on what is happening in the rest of the world.
Can see why not do well in the states. It requires some intelligence to watch it. The rest of the world sees its potential.
There are other networks that could pick this up. A Canadian series, Murdock mysteries does well here.
NBC shouldpick up season two of Crossing Lines. Great show, I like it!
Yes, bring it back. It is riveting and what a cliff hanger!!!!
Please air Crossing Lines. One of the best tv show around.
I would watch Season 2 in a heartbeat. I am 65 years young and still cannot believe NBC axed this show. It has some of the finest actors in entertainment, brillant writing and production, not to mention the filming locations broaden our horizons.
I have to say it – You are better than this NBC! Or at least as far back as I can remember, you were better than this, much better! Wherever it is aired, I will follow.
I watched it on Netflix and was hooked. Please let us see Season 2
NBC should run it, show it on cable. or sell it to Netflix. Good Show
I most definitely would watch this series. Outstanding acting and plot.
Yes – Renew!! Poor advertising by NBC. I watched on Netflix and was hooked!!!
Yes I wish to watch it on NBC
Please renew! This is a terrific series, with terrific actors.
Would love to see it back on TV again in the states!
look at some of the junk you have on tv.you base your rating by idiot kids 18 to 25 .just look who we elected as president.now tell me the tv industry isn’t just as bad as these kids .give us a break.
I am not in your demographic. I am 60. I watched the first season and really liked the show. I remember Star Trek when it first ran. As I recall it didn’t do so well it’s first season. Os many shows are pulled because the audience may not ‘get it’. Now Star Trek has morphed into a huge franchise. Just think what would have happened if it had been canned after a few shows or the first season. Let us have season 2. I understand it has already been produced so why not air it. Then if the ratings are… Read more »
My feelings exactly. Here in the U.S. it’s the teens and the twenty somethings that rule what we watch. If it’s not a comedy with vulgar or sexual undertones or a drama with lots of cursing and cleavage let’s not watch it. Some of us have a brain and enjoy watching a show such as Crossing Lines that actually stimulates are brain and not just our libido. Bring it back please.
Enjoyed the series and we would like it renew.
