France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
NBC put it on in the summer on Sunday nights with no real big advertisement? Really? Fantastic show that should have been on in the fall with all the new shows. Don’t screw this one up NBC.
Great show. One of the best. Hope to see a new series in Canada
Want the show back, looove it, one of best shows around. Would suggest not killing off great characters that we’ve come to care about due to good writing.
Please air the second season! This is a smart & character rich show with great writing and excellent actors! A joy to watch and see how the characters relate & stories intertwine with cases. When is the second season airing? I look forward to it!!
Love the show. Donald Sutherland fav of mine many years.
Hope it comes back.
Thanks
Yes- I missed the show’s original airing and came across it on Netflix. It could become one of my “I’ll make time for it programs”.
Yes!! I would watch it on any channel.
I’m just surprised that TNT hasn’t snapped it up since they seem to be doing some great programming.
NBC is probably too stupid to pick up such an amazing show. They like trite leftist drivel appealing to the stupid masses. Too bad. One of the best shows I’ve seen in quite a while!
Yes YES YES!!!!
Please bring it back, on any channel, in the U.S.! Best series in a long time!
Just don’t air it on a night where drunken dolts are surfing channels after the game or barbecue for something to watch.
Great series. Should be picked up for Season 2.
Love the show and never heard of it until I came across it on Netflix. Can’t WAIT for Season 2!
Comon damnit
