France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
damn right, the show must go on
We caught this show on Netflix and loved it. We’ve been waiting for Season 2. Please bring it back.
Yes and yes. It is a terrific and sophisticated show. Please bring it back to NBC.
Please renew Crossing Lines. America needs some sophisticated programming!
This is a great series please bring it back
This is one of the better shows I watched last season. Interesting, with a European touch of darkness appropriate to the subject. I’m looking forward to the coming season. Please renew this show.
an excellent tv crime show. it should get picked up again.
yes…renew! Did not watch during the summer, but I do not watch TV in the summer…catching it now on Netflix, And I like it!
This series is terrific, I’ll watch it wherever it airs!
Please bring back this show I is great!!
PLEASE RENEW THE SHOW IT IS VERY GOOD
If NBC cancels it Netflix should definitely pick it up. Netflix is the reason I no longer have cable.
While I love the show, I don’t think NBC should pick it up. Why? Because this is a show that, I feel, would do better on either BBC America, CineMax, FX, USA, or TNT.
I just discovered this series …on Netflix! Never heard a word about it from any CBS advertising…and with that time slot no wonder ratings sucked. This is one of the best series I have seen in many years. The cast is awesome; the writing excellent and the backdrop is …the world’s great cities. Keep it and move it to prime time some weeknight against lesser competition.
Bring it back.
I love this show……please bring it back!!!
