France’s TF1 and Sony Pictures Television Networks have renewed Crossing Lines for a second season.
There will be 12 episodes this time around (vs 10 episodes in season one) and production will begin on September 22nd. Locations will include France, the Czech Republic, Monte Carlo and Bulgaria.
Regulars William Fichtner, Donald Sutherland, Marc Lavoine, Tom Wlaschiha, Gabriella Pession and Richard Flood will all return, along with Lara Rossi, who was introduced late in the first season. Guest stars will include Carrie-Anne Moss and Ray Stevenson.
Crossing Lines has been very popular internationally, airing in over 180 territories. It hasn’t been a big hit here in the states however.
NBC aired the series on Sunday nights this summer to poor ratings. The season finale registered just a 0.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 2.06 million viewers — series lows.
The peacock network says that they haven’t made a decision on the future of the show on NBC. Unfortunately, based on the ratings, there’d be little incentive to license season two of Crossing Lines.
If they don’t pick it up, the show could find a US home on a cable channel, possibly one that’s owned by NBC-Universal like USA Network. Merlin underperformed on NBC in its first year so it was moved to Syfy for the later four seasons.
What do you think? Should NBC pick up season two of Crossing Lines or cancel the low-rated series instead? Would you watch it on a cable channel like USA?
Why is the USA so back behind? Seems that reality shows have demented the population which no longer strives for creativity and imagination.
Just because it was Low rated does not mean it was bad, it means it was an intelligent action show that just less people will appreciate. I believe the show must go on.
Dear Erin,
Just wanted to let you know that season 2 is now on Netflix and it is even better than season 1. Hope you enjoy it.
Thanks,
Sheila
Was so excited to see that Season 2 became available thru Netflix and my Hubby and I are watching it every evening. We have 3 episodes left and hate to see them go. Season 2 is even better than Season 1 and we can’t wait for Season 3 to become available for us die-hard fans. This is one of the best shows available to us and it’s a shame that NBC did not give it it’s just rewards. All exceptional actors/great stories/beautiful scenery and deep convictions demonstrate how “intrigue” series are to be made. Donald Sutherland is a great actor… Read more »

Please renew Crossing Lines for season 2 in the US. This show has a fabulous cast of players. The plots are intriguing, in-depth and with the hint of mystery and suspense they have included I am always engaged in their storylines. I would love to watch more of this show.

You can see all of season 2 on NETFLIX now. Just released a few days ago.
Screw NBC, its their loss if they only want to put ****** TV on!!
Just viewed this show on Netflix over the past week. Enjoyed the first 10 episodes and really hope the second season will be available soon. Keep them coming. Perhaps a bit too cerebral for the U.S market. Not enough mindless killing bang and boom!
Season 2 is now available on Netflix….
who needs NBC, its their loss!!
I noticed this morning that my Netflix “Picks” had the NEW EPISODES BANNER across Crossing Lines. I was thrilled. Must agree with the previous comment about NBC!!
