After 10 seasons, it’s time for David Caruso to turn in his sunglasses. CBS has cancelled CSI: Miami, the first show in the CSI franchise to end.
Starting in 2002, the TV series follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who often use advanced scientific methods to solve crimes. The current cast includes Caruso, Adam Rodriguez, Emily Procter, Eva La Rue, Jonathan Togo, Omar Benson Miller, and Rex Linn.
The ratings for CSI: Miami have declined over the years. Season 10 averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season nine by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).
While the cop show’s overall viewership is still impressive, advertisers want shows that cater to the demo audience and the network has many shows that attract big overall audiences.

What’s more, after 10 seasons on the air, CSI: Miami is no doubt very expensive to produce and there are already 232 episodes, more than enough to keep running in syndication for many years.
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, suggested that one of the CSI shows might be cancelled this month. The original CSI was already renewed so it was a guessing game to see if Miami or NY would bite the bullet. CSI: NY has reportedly been renewed for season nine.
Of the cancellation news, CBS released the following statement:
CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.

I’m still sad that there’s still no 11th season.
CSI: Miami is the most viewed TV Show in Europe since season 5, and it’s STILL the show with the most views. I cannot believe they canceled it, I’ve watched through all seasons since 2002 and European TV in Italy, Germany, France.. they’re still airing CSI Miami instead of NY because it’s just the most profitable show.

I’m two from completing all of the episodes of CSI Miami, they shouldn’t of canceled it, maybe one day they’ll bring it back fingers crossed
After watching all 232 episodes 3 times over, I can’t understand how this show could have been in their best interest to cancel. A 100% bad move in my opinion. My daughter watched it as it was broadcast and got me hooked on it, so much so that I bought all the seasons on DVD, my whole family watched it so it catered for young and old alike. So I saw one episode of CSI Miami and got hook in the first five minutes. I love this show and it was a long time before I even realized that the show was cancelled! I was so sad. I have been surfing the net trying to see if it could come back on but nothing is coming up but I am hoping that if all of Miami’s fans can come up with a way to bring it back and if we could ask the cast what they think it might be able to come back. This is what I have to say is, CSI needs to be back on this is the best show ever! The actors are awesome and the show is much better more action than NY show. I love Huraso, he is awesome and what really makes the show. Never seen a reddish head man play a awesome character. BRING THE SHOW BACK!!!
Why would you leave off with an episode like that! It leaves us hanging and its ********! Noone wants to see lieutenant dan anymore! If we want to see him we will watch forest gump! The only reason ratings are down is cause ppl cant afford cable! We get groups at our house just to watch miami! Bring it back damn it!
