After 10 seasons, it’s time for David Caruso to turn in his sunglasses. CBS has cancelled CSI: Miami, the first show in the CSI franchise to end.
Starting in 2002, the TV series follows a South Florida team of forensic investigators who often use advanced scientific methods to solve crimes. The current cast includes Caruso, Adam Rodriguez, Emily Procter, Eva La Rue, Jonathan Togo, Omar Benson Miller, and Rex Linn.
The ratings for CSI: Miami have declined over the years. Season 10 averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season nine by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).
While the cop show’s overall viewership is still impressive, advertisers want shows that cater to the demo audience and the network has many shows that attract big overall audiences.

What’s more, after 10 seasons on the air, CSI: Miami is no doubt very expensive to produce and there are already 232 episodes, more than enough to keep running in syndication for many years.
Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment, suggested that one of the CSI shows might be cancelled this month. The original CSI was already renewed so it was a guessing game to see if Miami or NY would bite the bullet. CSI: NY has reportedly been renewed for season nine.
Of the cancellation news, CBS released the following statement:
CSI: Miami leaves an amazing television legacy – a signature look and style, global popularity and as a key player in CBS’s rise to the top over the past decade. We thank all the producers – led by Jerry Bruckheimer, Jonathan Littman and Ann Donahue — and its talented cast, led by David Caruso, for 10 outstanding seasons. Viewers around the world will continue to enjoy rebroadcasts of CSI: Miami in syndication and on key digital platforms for many years to come.

its VERY sad to see such a great movie cancelled, CSI:NY should have been the one to be cancelled bcuz overall, ive watched 1 episodes of CSI:NY and did NOT like it all. I just DONT get why it was cancelled on such short notice, as there was only 19 episodes on Season 10. don’t leave such a disturbing and unanswered ending to us viewers. I am a BIG FAN of CSI MIAMI. I was heartbroken when I heard that there will be no more CSI MIAMI season 11. Please have it back. I love the episodes from season 1-10. I love them rather than other CSI shows. Please, pretty please?

So many people have seen it on Netflix and a lot would tune in if they came on with season 11 & so on. So many young kids like it and since they have binge watched Netflix they will want to see it on tv
I loved this show. It was bttr than the other csi. I was so sorry to see it go. I recently read that Delco was going to be joining the criminal minds cast in 016 -2017 cast for the 12th season, he will make a gre a t addition. But it had said he was on the show for 11 seasons so I was looking for the 11th as I only have 10. Csi Miami will always hold a special place in my heart.

I just watched the entire 10 seasons for 2 months straight. I really miss this show man. My mother and I always tuned it for this show. Also, I really want to know what happens next, does Calleigh raise Austin and Patty alone or with someone like Eric? What happens to Sam? What Happens to Vogel, is he convicted for blackmailing his clients and such? There is a lot of questions that needs to be answered. I really wish they’d revive it. For me, 10 seasons isn’t enough

So really, there HAS to be a Season 11 because there needs to be plenty of Calleigh, Austin, and Patty family scenes. And ERIC needs to be with them. ERIC. NOT THE WHOLE TEAM. It needs to be Eric, Calleigh, Austin, and Patty. One happy, perfect family. 🙂
I was gutted when Csi: Miami stopped. I hope that they will restart it. I was a really big fan of it and so was my dad. My dad and me were in tears when we found out it had stopped
I enjoyed this shows very much. Iam a professional fx makeup artist. Watching ea check episodes was not only exited g or the next one but I paid very close attention to the special effects makeup on wich I learnd from it.

Some confusion in that sentence. I think you mean “Season TEN averaged a 2.1 in the coveted 18-49 demographic with 9.85 million total viewers. That was down from season NINE by 13% in the demo (vs a 2.4 rating) and down by 5% in viewership (vs 10.39 million).

It doesn’t matter what the ratings are we love csi Miami and I have all the seasons most shows are canceled after 5 seasons and I believe that customers are always right. And y’all make money off of how many viewers are watching and having 9 million viewers is a lot of money bring back csi Miami it’s my rock. Horatio is my favorite. Delko is my second I want csi miami
