We’ve received several emails from readers who love CSI: NY and are worried that it’s been cancelled. Will the show ever return? The simple answer is, “Yes, it’s on hiatus until March 30th.” But, while the TV series hasn’t been canned yet, Gary Sinise and company could certainly be in their final season.
It’s no secret that the ratings have declined over the years and that’s probably one of the reasons that CBS moved it to a Friday night timeslot. It still brings in a respectable 10 million viewers each week but is one of the network’s worst performer in the prized 18-49 demographic, even when you adjust for the Friday timeslot. Year-to-year, the show is also down by 7% in the demo.
At the recent TCA press tour, CBS entertainment president Nina Tassler noted that, though she loves the CSI shows, “Nothing runs forever. How you handle it, the most important thing is how you respect your audience, how you respect your cast, and being incredibly sensitive to how you wrap up any show when it ends a successful run. But we are in those talking stages now (about how to end the CSIs).”
It’s unlikely that CBS will end all three CSI series this year but they could certainly drop one or two of them. Based on the ratings, the New York version would be first in line to be cancelled.
What do you think? Is this the last season of CSI: NY? Should the series be cancelled or renewed for one more season?

The original CSI was good, but once they started replacing the actors it is not the same show that I would do anything not to miss. CSI Miami is a tail of the sun glasses. Of all the CSI’s it is the worst acted and the worst written. Will do anything to avoid it, but CSI NY is well acted, and for the most part well written.
I do hope you do NOT cancel CSI:NY. Followed by Blue Bloods, whether I watch it or DVR it, is an evening of television worth seeing.
CSI:NY was doing fine before they brought Sela Ward into the show. She is killing the show. Her character is so boring. The actor they had play her ex-husband (David James Elliot) was much better. If they get rid of her the ratings should pickup.
please do not cancel csi ny. it goes great with blue bloods and makes a great fri night of television
I really like all the C.S.I. shows . I really hate the fact that they might be cancelled. Where has all the good television shows gone? Do we have to put season limits on them? Why I ask. If something now broke then don’t fix it. I as a viewer don’t understand why the networks choose reality shows over good t.v . This is such bologna in my point of view. I have cut back on my television time because of this . I hate reality TV and b.s shows . Wake up and please stop messing with the good… Read more »

It’s the only one of the 3 that we sach. We are and have been bg fans of Gary Senese.
Please move csi back to its Friday night slot with Blue Bloods. Both of these shows
are very good and work out excellent back to back.
I think CSI NY has great story lines the actors are great. I agree shows that are moved to fridays die because most people DVR them because they are not home. I think the nework should revulate there shows because they cancelled good shows in the past without a trace cold case and replaced them with garbage.
Please do not cancel CSI:NY out of the 3 this is my favorite, then CSI:MIAMI is my 2nd favorite of the 3
Please don’t cancel CSI NY. It’s the only 1 worth watching. The cast and plots are wonderful.
CBS really needs to place CSI: NY on a better day with a good time slot. Some shows move to Friday to die. Please do not let that happen to CSI: NY. I am not going to bash the other CSI shows like some people have done. That does not accomplish a damn thing. However, I do like all three CSI versions.
