Who’s watching the detectives? Canada’s CTV has ordered a new 10-episode detective TV show for the 2017-18 television season. The still untitled hourlong drama series comes from Ilana Frank’s ICF Films, the production company behind Saving Hope as well as the cancelled Rookie Blue TV show.
Ley Lukins developed the new series. She serves as Co-Showrunner and Executive Producer with Adam Pettle. The writing staff also includes Sandra Chwialkowski, Adriana Maggs, Naledi Jackson, Sarah Goodman, and Hayden Simpson.

CTV Greenlights New Detective Series for 2017/18 Slate

February 13, 2017TORONTO, ON (February 13, 2017) – CTV announced today that it has greenlit a new 10 episode, one hour detective series for the networks 2017/18 programming slate. The currently untitled ensemble drama series is from Ilana Frank, the producer behind hit CTV series SAVING HOPE. Casting for the series is currently underway with production set to begin this spring.
The new drama centres on two female detectives. Together they work to solve the challenging cases of the major crimes unit while navigating the realities of their very real and relatable personal lives.
“Ilana Frank has been an incredible production partner for CTV, and with this new series we are building on the momentum of SAVING HOPE, the longstanding and fan favourite hit she brought our viewers for five seasons,” said Mike Cosentino, Senior Vice-President, CTV and Specialty, Bell Media. “With a proven track record of creating series that resonate with viewers, we look forward to introducing this new project to Canadians in 2018.”

The series was developed by Ley Lukins who serves as Co-Showrunner and Executive Producer with Adam Pettle. Other writers include Sandra Chwialkowski, Adriana Maggs, Naledi Jackson, Sarah Goodman, and Hayden Simpson. Executive Producers are ICF’s Ilana Frank (SAVING HOPE, ROOKIE BLUE), John Morayniss, and Linda Pope, with co-executive producers Jocelyn Hamilton and Sonia Hosko.
The series is produced by ICF Films with eOne in association with CTV, with the participation of the Canada Media Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit and the Ontario Film and Television Tax Credit. All distribution rights are handled by eOne.

Am so so sorry to lose Saving Hope…As far as the new series goes, it looks interesting but not much info was provided.
IS ANYONE LOOKING INTO GENIUS, I THINK IT WAS A SHOW ALITTLE AHEAD OF IT’S TIME, GREAT CONCEPT. WOULDN’T IT BE WONDERFUL IF A HOSPITAL L IKE THAT REALLY DID EXSIST. I THOUGHT NETFLEX OR HU LU WOULD PICK UP. SEEMS SUCH A SHAME TO LOSE. HELP ANYONE ?
