This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Everyone knows that a return of Dallas would blow away any other show. TNT wasn’t the best network. They played too many games and watered it down with gobs of commercials and split up nights. Dallas deserves another network. On another network this show would thrive.
It’s Summer. Well at least it sure feels like it. And no Dallas on TV. This is not good. They need to bring back Dallas, my favorite show.
It’s been way too long since I’ve seen a new Dallas show. It should be considered a crime that this is happening. Bring back Dallas.
There is nothing on TV as good as Dallas was. If the ad people had any brains, they’d bring back Dallas.
Why can’t they bring back my favorite show, Dallas? I wonder about the hanky panky going on with the advertisers and networks. They remove the best shows and replace them with crud. It’s not right.
When Dallas returns, I’ll start watching TV a little more. But for now…what’s the use.
If all the shows that replaced Dallas are so good, how come no one watches them? Bring back Dallas.
Still looking and can’t find anything as good as Dallas on TV. That was a shame to cancel Dallas. Such a great show.
Since the folks running TV (i.e. Ad people) can’t find squat for new shows to air, why not put back a proven winner. Bring back Dallas.
There’s just awful stuff to watch on TV now. Bring back Dallas, Please!
Bring back Dallas. I can’t think of a show I’d want to watch instead. Having Dallas on every week on TV was the good old days of TV. Now??? Well, just look at the guide…see what I mean?
Why don’t they bring back the best show that was ever on? I’m talking about Dallas. Why bother with experiments that fail. Dallas is and was a proven winner. I just can’t understand these ad people. If you ask me they’re missing something upstairs. Do the math…
Dallas was the better show in the evenings. Nothing has replaced it that has any likability at all. The way they treat great TV shows now is a crime. They are now short ( only about 12 episodes), loaded with commercials, chopped up…and most are not even worth watching. At least Dallas was worthy of watching in spite of this.
If Dallas were to return, I might think differently about the Ad people who cancelled it. But as it stands now…they’re bad people to cancel my most favorite show.
Well, we’ve got Jeopardy, Family Feud and Wheel…what more can you say for the wonderful TV evening line up we have now. So creative huh? This from the brains of Ad people. Bring back Dallas!
