This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Even if they aired a show similar to Dallas, people would watch it. If the real Dallas returned it would be a mega hit again. I wish networks would realize this. It’s too bad their minds aren’t connecting. TV could be a better place.
The shows that are still on TV now are flat horrible. You have this now and Dallas has been cancelled. Makes no sense. There must be crazy people in charge.
Dallas was so popular. It was a shining star on the TV schedule. Now we have nothing but sub par shows to watch. I wish Dallas was back.
It’s Summer. You’d think they’d at least put on Dallas reruns. Networks missing the boat, the dock, the harbor…surely you know.
The 4 networks are really pathetic now. Just look at the nightly line up of shows that air. Can anyone really watch this stuff and be sane? And they cancelled Dallas. Go figure.
Bringing back Dallas makes sense. It’s more American than these foreign made jobs that nobody watches. Let’s enjoy American culture too.
What kind of results do they get with the replacement shows? Since no one watches these pretenders…bring back the real mccoy…. bring back Dallas.
The best shows just don’t have a chance with these programmers of today. Great shows like Dallas were a jewel to enjoy. I wish they would bring this show back.
I miss Dallas so much. I wish they’d bring it back.
I hope the production crew and the actors can be reassembled to start production on renewing Dallas. It’s too great a show to keep down.
I vote for the FX network to return Dallas. Unless they would want a commercial free network. THAT would be out of this world great. But I’d enjoy it back any way possible.
Still, no network has broadcast any series better than Dallas. This makes no sense. Kudos to FX. Their stuff is pretty good. FX would be a great network to have Dallas returned to. Let’s get Dallas back on.
I’d renew Dallas in a heartbeat if I could. That would be the best decision ever made by the TNT group. Better yet, let another network take it. I’m sure we all would like to see Dallas back. Let’s have Dallas back, please.
Cancelling Dallas was a blow to everyone. It shouldn’t have been cancelled. It should return because it was the best show that was ever on TV.
Through the years, Dallas has been the greatest show. And when the stars and producers were willing to continue the series (and hopefully still are) TNT cancels it. Man, putting it bluntly, that’s so lame.
