This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Yes, bring back the Ewings. We need a great diversion from what’s going on. Bring back Dallas.
I think TV has become one giant commercial end to end. OK, we need them to pay for the programs. Can’t help with that. But they could improve the programming a whole lot. A whole lot. They can start by bringing back Dallas to TV.
Game shows, local news and really stupid shows like The Theory etc. Then the reruns of the game shows and ridiculous sit coms with their laugh tracks coming in at timed waves. Is this the best TV folks can come up with? Bringing back Dallas would be a good start to patching TV’s image of horrible broadcasting.
There’s nothing on this Summer. Bring back Dallas, please. Hopefully, bring it back on a premium channel. But mostly, just bring it back.
I just can’t believe they cancelled Dallas and left all the rotten shows on. It makes me think the whole darn business of tv and advertising must be corrupt.
How can tv stations be proud of the stuff they put on the air when it’s so bad. I don’t know of anyone who watches the 4 networks anymore. What’s happened to tv anyway? They cancel a great show like Dallas and air this junk. C’mon.
Talk about Summer reruns. The reruns used to be at least a little entertaining. Now we have reruns of game shows and that gawd awful Big Idiot Theory that is as stupid as it can get. And yet they cancelled Dallas. Bring back Dallas please.
I wish Dallas could come back to TV. There’s nothing of interest to watch these days. Dallas is missed by many.
I probably hit a nerve with my assessment of the current tv line up. But advertisers are just wasting their money with this garbage they put on tv. Nobody watches this stuff. I mean nobody. Bring back a great show. Bring back Dallas.
As I look at the tv schedule, I have to laugh. I know it’s Summer but c’mon. The 4 networks are nothing but news, game shows and laugh track stupids. If you can’t do any better than that then PLEASE bring back Dallas.
Still, no network has made a series comparable to Dallas. A show like Dallas is needed because of the vacuum it left being cancelled. Better yet, let’s just bring Dallas back.
Please bring Dallas back ! The third season left a lot of good things that should be exciting and suspenseful !
I really miss not having Dallas to watch. Hit shows like this are one of a kind. I guess advertisers don’t want people to watch TV. Why else would they cancel Dallas? You know the saying…”a jillion channels and nothing on to watch”.
Advertisers at work here.
Still, Dallas was the best. They cancelled the best show. This doesn’t make any sense. They really know how to spoil TV.
Not much there to watch in the evenings, is there? I can’t believe how much these advertisers are missing the boat. Don’t they do the math? Do they live under a rock? Dallas was watched and loved. They can’t figure that out…sad.
