This will be the first full season of Dallas without Larry Hagman’s JR Ewing. Can the cast and producers continue to draw viewers and solid ratings without their quintessential bad guy? Will the new Dallas be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned to find out.
Airing on Monday nights, Dallas continues to follow the machinations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. The higher the ratings, the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.
Final season averages: 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 1.92 million total viewers.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Reference point: The second season of the new Dallas averaged a 0.8 demo rating and 2.67 million viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the Dallas series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a fourth season?
Update: TNT has cancelled Dallas after three seasons. Details here.
Seriously, do TV execs actually watch the garbage they let on TV? It’s hard to believe that when they sell advertising, companies actually pay money to air the crud that’s on TV. Yet they cancelled Dallas. Go figure.
Another day of TV tripe. Can’t the network people be made to watch this stuff? If they did, they’d gag. Bring back Dallas!
Yes, so many shows more deserving of being cancelled than Dallas. I couldn’t list them here because it would take up far too much time and typing room. I wonder sometimes what goes on in the network peoples brains. We get the least desirable shows to watch and they can the best. WTF?
TNT really dropped the ball when they cancelled Dallas. I know of no one who watches their network for anything now. Things are tough these days, I know. But don’t you think there were shows more deserving of being cancelled than Dallas?
There’s nothing on TV that even comes close to how good Dallas was.
When and if Dallas returns, I can finally enjoy TV again. The shows that are on now are horrible.
Dallas should return. It was the best show on. Now look what’s on. Need I say more?
TV ain’t what it used to be. When Dallas was on, we had something good to watch. Now…things like The Big Fxg Theory and so on. What a mess TV has become.
I’d gladly watch Dallas over the current TV line up. The crud that’s on is only watchable by idiots. Why even have the 4 networks? They’re just commercial machines with garbage between the commercials. And yet they cancelled Dallas. That either proves that advertisers are very out of touch or they think we’re morons.
The returned Dallas was done so expertly to the original Dallas. Why oh why it got cancelled by TNT, it’s just so incredible. Such a great show to watch. I wish it was still on.
It would be nice if we had something good on TV to watch. Dallas returning would be the high point.
To the TNT network who cancelled Dallas: Who watches your channel now? I don’t know of anyone.
TV is seriously bad. I don’t think anyone watches the 4 networks anymore. The awful programming that’s on is simply unwatchable. And yet they cancelled Dallas…amazing.
I’m very disappointed that a show like Dallas gets cancelled and the crud they keep on TV stays. TV used to be much better when Dallas was on.
Who controls all the stuff that’s on TV, anyway? It’s got to be a crazy conspiracy or something. When the good shows get cancelled and the worst ones get aired. What the hxxx? Can’t they do any better than this? Bring back Dallas, please.
