It was a disappointing return for the folks at Southfork. The season premiere marked a series low in viewership and nearly matched a low in the demo.
Reference point: The first season of the new Dallas averaged a 1.1 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.42 million total viewers.
Cable ratings are typically released within a day or so of the show’s airing, except for in the case of weekends and holidays. They are sometimes harder to come by so there may be occasional delays or gaps.
What do you think? Do you still like the new Dallas TV series? Are you hoping that it’s renewed for a third season?
I sure hope they will continue with the old cast as well as the new cast in good story lines. I have really enjoyed the Dallas comeback and have gotten many comments on my T-shirt from the old Southfork line.
I love season two and really well be bummed if not renewed, so come on TNT. At first I want due about the second generation.but season two really developed their characters , so folks need to get on board. Great car… both old and new. Hope it runs for years to come.
The resurrection of Dallas would have done Jock and Miss Ellie proud. I’m obsessed with Sue Ellen and Pamela but feel the entire cast does an amazing job conveying the vision of these amazing writers. How they incorporated JR’s death was genius.
Keep it going TNT!
Please continue the show for the third season and on. Or I will have a broken heart.
Please return for season 3…I’ve been watching since the original show…I’m completely hooked!!!
Love Dallas, I cannot wait for it to come on again. I count the episodes by number and watch them one by one. Used to watch it back when too! Its got to be one of the best shows on TV. No doubt, why would they pull it? Come on man…..
I LOVE THIS SHOW,MY HUSBAND AND I NEVER MISSED AN EPISODE WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT,AND AT FIRST DID NOT THINK I WOULD LIKE IT AS WELL,BUT I LOVE THE WRITTING I’M HOOKED AGAIN, PLEASE KEEP IT GOING.I JUST WISH PAM WOULD HAVE COME BACK.I ABSOLUTLY LOVED THE LAST SHOW I LAUGHED AND CRYED.
The season 2 finale was great. TNT has to have a season 3. Dallas has to be renewed for a new season. Listen to the viewers. The new Dallas is the best drama on television now and I can’t wait to see what is coming.
I think that Dallas should continue. It started out slow on the very first episode, but week after week it just kept getting better & better. They really need to do a 3rd season. The show is absolutely addicting. I watched Dallas back in the 80’s & was addicted to it then. I agree that the show should go back to Wednesday nights. It has competition with The Voice & that ‘s not fair to Dallas. Dallas is a show that should never end. There is always something that happens that makes it worth while to watch. There is too… Read more »
By all means, Dallas needs to be renewed for a third season…and a fourth, and more and more. Even if ratings aren’t great, do it all the same. Dallas enjoys a huge advantage, in the sense that story ideas will never run out. In addition, those who don’t have cable which includes TNT, will be eager to buy the DVDs as they come out. I think that’s the best argument in favor of running for a good several seasons more. The first went to 14, offically, and this one could easily run that long, at least.
The cast and crew have done an incredible job. The writing, producing and directing are of the highet quality. A professional group right down to the very last person. They have earned and deserve a 3rd season.
Of course it should be renewed-this is great drama, well acted on all counts and the writing is excellent.
TNT should quit dragging their feet and renew.
Please renew Dallas for a third season! It is my favorite show on television and there is still so much for John Ross and Christopher to do!
Like so many of you on here, I love this so, I grew up in the 80’s with Dallas and am loving the new Dallas. It is so well written. Yes it’s different without JR but that is life, we all die eventually but our DNA lives on in our descendants. It would be a sin not to renew. Has anyone thought of starting a Facebook campaign to keep it going?
Please renew for a third season. Love this show. Makes my mondays. Please renew!
