It’s the end of the line for the Dallas TV show — for the second time. TNT has announced that they’ve cancelled the new Dallas TV show after three seasons.
A continuation of the successful CBS series from the 1970s, 80s and 90s, Dallas follows the machinations of two generations of the dysfunctional and powerful Ewing clan. The cast includes Josh Henderson, Jesse Metcalfe, Jordana Brewster, Julie Gonzalo, Brenda Strong, Patrick Duffy, Linda Gray, Mitch Pileggi, Emma Bell, Kuno Becker, and Juan Pablo Di Pace.
Year-to-year, season three of Dallas was down by 26% in viewership and down by 38% in the 18-49 demographic. It’s one of TNT’s lowest-rated scripted series and that certainly wasn’t a good sign for its chances of a fourth season.
In a statement, TNT said, “We are extremely proud of the series, which defied expectations by standing as a worthy continuation of the Ewing saga. We want to thank everyone involved with the show, from the extraordinary cast to the impeccable production team, led by the show’s creative forces, Cynthia Cidre and Mike Robin. We especially want to thank the people of Dallas for their warm and generous hospitality during the production of the series.”
Cidre and the writers have been working on scripts and ideas for a fourth season of Dallas so hopefully she’ll share what would have happened at some point.
What do you think? Will you miss the Ewings? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a fourth season? Would you watch it on another channel?
AGAIN!! They have taken the Ewings and Barnes away. Bring it back on any channel at any time. PLEASE!!!!
Please bring Dallas back!!! It was sad to loose JR, but to cancel the show all together is just totally wrong! JR would want the show to go on! I love watching the Ewing’s! Would watch on any channel the show is on, as long as I get it!!!
It was amazing how the young actors melded with the original cast members in a seamless
fashion. It is sad that season 4 cancelled; when Larry Hagman passed, the show did lose a
little steam, but season 3 was good enough for continuation. Hopefully it will be picked up
by another network.
I am so angry now, that I know, that there won´t be a season four! I discovered this serie just this month – I did not know, that it would be so exiting! I grew up with the old Dallas-Clan, but the old/new combination is perfect! The intrigues and entanglements are devised fabulous and although I don´t speak english very well, I had to watch it in english since the half of the second season, because they were not dubbed or subbed. I love it really and I will show it to my 20 years old girl – she will… Read more »
Yes yes we will miss the show we would watch another channel we thought it was well written and well acted. It’s sad that Larry Hagman had passed away but I’m sure he would like to see the show continue as it was a part of it and it was a big part of his life
So sad the show was cancelled, I was waiting anxiously on the next season. Please bring it back it was a great cast and show. Try another network. I agree and we really miss it. I do hope someone picks it up!
I watch this show along with Knots landings, back in the 70’s, you have to bring the show back!!! great writers, and the cast was AWESOME!! Funny how a show with real actors gets cancealed. but reality TV still going strong…….. unbelivable.
Bring it back! I loved the series and looked forward to it each season. I would definitely watch it on another network!
This show was a AWESOME! It brought me back every week! The cast was fantastic! They should at least get another station so that there can be a proper final season!!
I watched the original Dallas and had continue watching the new Dallas. I am sorry to hear it has not been renewed. I think it should at least come back for a final season.
Yes it does need to renewed. Yes I would watch Dallas. You need to show the conclusion of last season.
I have watch Dallas when it first started on TV and I am going back years it is wrong to end a show and you don’t carry on with it people are a fan of it please put it on TV and make me very happy
I am beyond upset at the cancellation of Dallas. This was a great show that my wife and I never missed. We even visited South Fork on a trip to Dallas. Please renew it or get another station to do it as there are few great shows on TV and losing Dallas makes it worse.
Hi, I am from the England UK, its sad that you have given up on Dallas 4. If you had kept with the older style of Dallas 70s,+ you could have the show back here big time, could not have gone wrong, great actors, good story line, was right on the money. Get real, get good scrip writers like before, I am still hoping. David Lovett UK.
So sad the show was cancelled, I was waiting anxiously on the next season. Please bring it back it was a great cast and show. Try another network.
