Get ready to see Captain Josh Harris tackle the next step in his journey to continue his father’s legacy in Deadliest Catch: Bloodline. Season two of the reality series will land on the Discovery+ streaming service later this month. The upcoming season will follow Harris expanding their business into Hawaiian waters while looking to Las Vegas businesses to purchase their catches.
Discovery+ revealed more about the return of the series in a press release.
“Last season, Deadliest Catch captain and Alaskan legacy fisherman, Josh Harris and his business partner, Casey McManus set out on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to Hawaii after discovering the late Captain Phil Harris’ fishing charts. The charts date as far back as the early ’80s and show all the islands of Hawaii, including one of the most premiere fishing spots in the world – the Kona coast. They are covered in Captain Phil’s handwriting, with detailed notes about fishing adventures and island life. Now, armed with new leads, Josh and Casey are heading back to the Big Island in hopes of uncovering Phil’s secret past. The brand-new season of DEADLIEST CATCH: BLOODLINE premieres Tuesday, April 20 on discovery+.
Eager to reignite Captain Phil’s dream of fishing professionally in Hawaii, Josh and Casey expand their warm water business, setting their sights on the single largest purchaser of seafood in the world: Las Vegas, to fuel their growth on the island chain. Amid lower prices and general disarray in the Hawaiian seafood market due to Covid-19, catching fish isn’t the only problem – now, it’s selling the catch.
With exponential growth and millions in fish sales on the line, Josh, and Casey alongside Jeff Silva, one of the island’s top commercial fisherman enlist a fourth partner: Johnathan Hillstrand. With this wildcard in their ranks, the captains look to expand their fleet, their crew, and even sail their famed crab boat, the F/V Cornelia Marie, to Hawaii, all while following Captain Phil’s footsteps to build their business and continue to solve the mystery of Phil Harris’ secret past.
To help navigate these uncertain times Josh dives into Phil Harris’ past to find a way forward. The young legacy fisherman turns to brother Jake Harris for information, yielding new insight about Phil’s endeavors that point not just to the late patriarch’s fishing adventures in the Hawaiian Islands and Mexico, but also to his pursuit of a seafood market much larger than Hawaii – the mother of all restaurant markets – Las Vegas. Using Phil’s connections, Josh and Casey open the door to a potentially unlimited pipeline of demand for Hawaii’s fresh seafood – if they can catch it.”
What do you think? Did you watch season one of Deadliest Catch: Bloodline on Discovery Channel? Do you plan to watch season two on Discovery+?
I think this is ********! We love this show and now can’t watch because its only on Discovery +. I refuse to stream anything when I already pay for cable. Why cut out paying cable customers? We pay to have DIscovery channel.
Extremely disappointed that “Bloodlines show is only on Discovery +. I already pay enough for Dish and I already get the regular Discovery channel. Guess I will have to re-evaluate Dish and Discovery and/or both.
I’m SO disappointed, just like everyone else who has commented so far. We pay enough for DISH, and will not be paying for all these extra streaming channels. I really, really love “Bloodlines” and was looking forward to the new season. Too bad I won’t get to. I’ll write Josh and let him know.
I am saddened by finding out this years “Bloodlines ” will only be on discovery +. If this keeps up, I’ll be canceling the discovery channels from my satellite lineup. People have to spend enough to watch now. With hundreds of thousands still out of work, this is despicable. Get a life discovery.
Not a chance…and shame on the Discovery channel for demanding more money from an already over stressed society who already pay for their network…..greedy ********!
As much as I would love to watch Bloodline, I will not pay extra for Discovery +.
So disappointed that you are charging more to watch Bloodline when I am already paying for the Discovery Channel. No I will not be signing up. Totally tired of having to pay more for less.
Really ticked off. Mad is under statement. I am on SS retired pay Over $200.00 now for Xfinity. Cannot afford to add pay channel. So tired of companies with their greed.
I was looking forward to the new season, but it looks like I won’t be getting to watch it since its going to Discovery+. I already pay over $300 a month for cable. I’m not going to add another pay channel for it. Too bad Discovery has to get greedy.
No I won’t pay more. Sorry I liked the show but won’t pay more
I won’t pay for Discovery + and will miss Bloodline very much! Hope they change to include on Discovery!
I already pay for my TV service. Why would I pay for a streaming service for a group of stations? I won’t so I guess I won’t see this season.
I saw first season and enjoyed it, if the next season is only available on discovery plus and streaming? Guess I’ll miss it, too bad I was rooting for them
I was lookin forward to season 2 also. That Discovery want us to pay on Dish then on Plus for one show… unreasonable! I haven’t found anything else I’d watch so won’t be subscribing.
Why is this being shown on Discovery + first? It should be on Discovery channel then on the plus. Not everyone wants to pay for their favorite tv shows in order to watch. I know i won’t. I am disappointed in Discovery channel not putting new seasons of Deadliest Catch and Bloodline on first then the shows should then go on the plus app. I hope they do put season two of bloodlines on Discovery channel so people like my husband and I can watch it without paying.
I loved watching this, but I’m not going to pay more to watch it on Discovery Plus. Tired of the networks trying to get more money out of us.
