What’s This TV Show About?
A Netflix political thriller, which ran for its first two seasons on ABC, Designated Survivor stars Kiefer Sutherland, Natascha McElhone, Adan Canto, LaMonica Garrett, Kal Penn, Maggie Q, Malik Yoba, Paulo Costanzo, Zoe McLellan, Ben Lawson, Tanner Buchanan, and Mckenna Grace. The conspiracy drama series centers on Tom Kirkman (Sutherland). After an attack on Capitol Hill wipes out the line of succession, this HUD Secretary becomes President of the United States.

Telly’s Take
Last year, ABC cancelled Designated Survivor, but Netflix picked it up for its third season. Whether they will cancel or renew it for season four is the question. We know that the show does well internationally and Netflix would have gotten that sort of information, before it sealed the deal. I think they’re more likely to renew it than cancel it. Netflix typically announces renewals within a month of release, so hopefully, if there’s good news for fans (and bad news for my tummy), we should know pretty soon. I’ll update this page with any developments, so subscribe for free updates on any Designated Survivor cancellation or renewal news.
7/24/19 update: Netflix has decided against ordering a fourth season of Designated Survivor.

I’m binge watching this epic series, I love it, infact I’m obsessed lol, cant believe they have cancelled series 4, absolutely gutted, Keifer Sutherland is fantastic as president, baring In mind I’m only just onto series 3, only have one question What happened to Mike? his security, oh I was so upset to see Michael J Fox, i didn’t even realise it was him, fair play that he has continued to act
My husband and I are terribly disappointed Designated Survivor will not have a 4th season!!!!! This was the BEST NETFLIX ORIGINAL bar none!!!!!
what a great show, cant believe they cancelled it. I found it on Netflix and watched all three seasons in less than a week. Hopefully someone will pick it up and at least come out with one more season to wrap everything up.
What a shame I really enjoyed watching this show one of the better shows on TV and I usually don’t watch TV but this show caught my interest
I really enjoyed this series and hope somehow it will still be continued.
I thought season 3 was OK to watch, but it became unbearable at the last three episodes after Hannah Wells was killed off. At that point, I didn’t really care to see renewal afterwards. Outside of Kiefer Sutherland, Maggie Q was the heart of the show. She added the spy thriller spice that the series ran on. If they managed to negotiate a renewal after all, I would much rather see it with her having not really died and maybe somehow written in as being covertly rescued by an agent who was shadowing her off camera having only “officially died”… Read more »

Loved this show I couldn’t stop watching it and I am very disappointed that it has been dropped
