ABC has unveiled yet another cop series, Detroit 1-8-7. This one stars Michael Imperioli who, as you may recall, co-starred on ABC’s Life on Mars a couple seasons ago. That one was cancelled after 17 episodes. Will his new show last any longer?
Detroit 1-8-7 follows a group of homicide detectives working on the tough streets of Detroit, Michigan. The ABC series stars Imperioli as well as Aisha Hinds, D.J. Cotrona, Erin Cummings, James McDaniel, Jon Michael Hill, Natalie Martinez, and Shaun Majumder.
In its premiere, the series attracted a lackluster 2.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 9.342 million total viewers. For the timeslot, it was in third (last) place for the all-important demo and in second place for total viewers (beating Parenthood).

The series premiere lost nearly half of its lead-in audience from Dancing with the Stars. Not good.
On top of that, Detroit 1-8-7 continued to lose viewers as the hour progressed. That’s a pretty good indicator that those viewers won’t be back next week.
Detroit 1-8-7 will likely lose viewers in week two, as most shows do. It won’t have to lose many to be in serious trouble.

This is a great cop show with excellent actors portraying well written characters. It ranks alongside the old NYPD Blue w/ Sipowich, the new Southland from LA and the ongoing Blue Bloods, Law and Order SVU and NY CSI shows. Pre-empting it for an intervue by Diane Sawyer about a wounded polititian was absolutely ridiculous. I’d be more inclined to listen to interviews of our wounded soldiers. ABC producers need their heads examined as usual. 1 8 7 Detroit needs to be scheduled in a favorable time slot and given a second season run. This is a great show!!

Good and viable show. It should stay on the air. Better than ‘reality trash’ that’s currently on air. Keep it on.
please do not cancel this show detroit 187………..if you dont want to continue let another network pick it up and continue with new episodes ……love the show
This show is gritty, the characters are slightly flawed which adds dimension. Too bad its up against the Good Wife. I watch it online. I say keep it.

I love this show – I like the actor – he was on tv show Homicide years ago – I like all of the characters – I always looked forward to watching it – I’m bummed – not a fan of “V – so PLEASE bring it back!!!!
I really look forward to this show. Having lived and worked in this city, I fine the characters are so true to the area, I’m amazed how real they are. The casting is remarkable, and I find the story line getting better and better with each show. Even some of the facts are so close to the truth it’s astonishing. Give it a chance.
Keep the show! The show is based on REAL police procedures, and they are showing Detroit’s good sides. Every movie or tv show that has came out has put down Detroit over the past 10 years making it hard for use to make a good name for ourselves.
PLEASE CANCEL THIS BORING SHOW! This show is slow and weeks. All you people on here that say keep the show all live in Detroit. How is this show good for Detroit?? It will not help the city to recover from being in the top 3 crime slots in America every year. The show will not be back!

Detroit 187 is a well written show with an excellent cast. Reminds me of NYPD Blue. Hope it stays around!

Keep this! It reminds me of Hill Street Blues and is more real than any of the other cop shows. I have never watched those but we do watch 1-8-7 because the characters are so interesting and real.
