Grimm has done very well for NBC on Friday nights and is one of their highest-rated dramas. How has Dracula been performing? Is it safe or likely to be cancelled?
Based on the classic Bram Stoker story, Dracula takes place in London. The title character (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) poses as an American entrepreneur while he seeks revenge on those who cursed him. He doesn’t count on falling in love with a woman (Jessica De Gouw) who looks like his deceased wife. Others in the cast include Thomas Kretschmann, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Victoria Smurfit, Katie McGrath, and Nonso Anozie.
The series debuted on October 25th to a 1.8 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 5.26 million viewers. This was a very respectable performance for a Friday airing.
Unfortunately, the ratings took a big dive in week two and then again in week three, falling to a 0.9 rating with 2.96 million.

After seven episodes, Dracula is now averaging a 1.1 in the demo and 3.46 million viewers. Unless the next few episodes see a good-size gain, the averages will keep dropping.
With ratings like these, it would seem unlikely that NBC would want to order a second season. However, the network has partnered with Sky Living on the series, decreasing their costs. Dracula started airing in the UK on Sky Living last Halloween.
It’s also worth noting that NBC renewed Hannibal last spring and that show drew even worse numbers on Thursdays.
So, essentially, Dracula’s fate could go either way. We’ll have to wait and see whether it will be cancelled or renewed for a second season.
But, what do you think? Do you like Dracula? Do you think it should be renewed or cancelled?
It truly needs to be repaired ant continued….. this was one one the best TV shows. I don’t not watch TV haven’t more many years till this show and then it was cancelled this is truly a horrible thing for them to have done… I pray and hope they bring it back.
Hurry up withe series 2,Just watched series 1 back to back.I love Grimm but need Dracula.
Bring back dracula! Absolutely addicted, love it! Will be gutted without a second season.
They should keep it!Its a really great series. This is my favourite series.
This is the best series. They should keep it!
Bring backnow dracula season 2 please
Just finished seeing the last episode of Season 1 on Sky Living. Wow, I want more and quickly. By far one of the best programmes on television. BRING BACK DRACULA!!!!!
Unbelievably great program should be picked up.R.M.Renfield was the greatest.
The Dracula fans are NUMEROUS! We don’t want Constantine. We want Dracula back! I am amazed that it is not officially picked up from a network yet. The show is GOLD! Save Dracula!!!!
Dracula is a great show and I hope it returns. The suspense was unreal it always had me sitting at the end of my chair. Loved the intense love story but yet a thriller.
I want to start with the fact that Jonathan Rhys Meyers has put at least 110% into every performance he has ever given. With that said NBC is out of their minds for letting Dracula go. Especially since Hanibal had lower ratings and they kept that show. NBC has made a very bad decision by letting Dracula go, possibly the company that was partnered with NBC will be able to pick up where NBC stopped. Wouldn’t that be a kick in the pants to NBC if they did pick it up and it became a huge hit despite NBC’s abandonment.… Read more »
Listen up NBC. Dracula was a good show which needs to return to TV. It was great to watch on a Friday night when their were very few shows worth watching. I couldn’t wait to watch it. Please bring it back.
I love mystery and suspense there are alot of stupid shows still on the air I could name a lot besides the fact they are not as hot as drac!
I sure hope they renew it! They didn’t advertise this show very well. I just happened to see part on a flight I was on, and it sparked my interest.
Dracula is a great program & it needs to be returned for a second season. NBC has really bad programs on there network & would be smart to keep this show.
