TV show description:
This horror/thriller series is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. It takes place in the late 19th century.
The mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has arrived in London and is posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.
He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night — a useful concept for someone who must avoid sunlight. He is aided by his loyal confidant, R.M. Renfield (Nonso Anozie).
Dracula has another reason for his travels however. He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw), a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Episode #10 — “Let There Be Light”
At long last, American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson executed a public demonstration of his miraculous electromagnetic resonator device, which promises to provide free, wireless electricity to all of London.
The demonstration was postponed after a previous attempt only a fortnight ago reportedly poisoned the surrounding neighborhood, causing children and elderly residents to become ill. Mr. Grayson insists that the poisoning was the result of sabotage, most likely by his rivals at the United Imperial Lubricant Company, although Scotland Yard has yet to find any evidence to support the claims.
This weekend’s demonstration, the second such attempt for Mr. Grayson, was to be his magnum opus, the result of years – possibly even decades – of research and construction that would revolutionize the world as we know it and put his oil industry rivals out of business entirely. What began as a day of triumph and victory ended as one of the most tragic and destructive days in London’s recent history.
At approximately 6:22 in the evening, moments after Grayson fired up his resonator to shed miraculous, wireless light on the entire district, the machine suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Grayson and his engineering team went to great lengths to evacuate the area as quickly as possible, and indeed the brave men spared many lives by doing so.
However, only five minutes after the machine was activated, a mechanical malfunction led to the largest manmade explosion in British history, centered directly in the heart of downtown London. The damage was catastrophic. At least a dozen people were killed in the explosion, and, while the numbers are still being tallied, estimates predict the number of injured persons to be in the hundreds, possibly even into the thousands.
Miraculously (and despite being in the belly of the beast itself during the explosion), Mr. Grayson managed to escape relatively unscathed, save for a few bumps and bruises. He is currently exiled in Carfax Manor and refusing to speak to the press, other than to briefly announce that he suspects foul play and sabotage to be the cause of the malfunction.
As London continues to recover from the horrific tragedy, hundreds remain missing. Most notably, Mr. Browning, a prominent member of British high society, has not been seen since the day of the explosion, despite the fact that Mr. Browning was not on site when the accident occurred. Miss Lady Jayne Wetherby is also unaccounted for, and she was last scene hailing a carriage toward the demonstration, only moments before the explosion. Also missing is Mr. Grayson’s right-hand man, Mr. Renfield, who was last seen returning to Carfax Manor on the day of the demonstration.

What do you think? Do you like the Dracula TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
It looks like this show may have been cancelled! I hope not! Thought this was a new and creative spin as apposed to the same old “Dracula” story that we always get! Look foward to seeing how Lucy deals with her new life!
We LOVE IT—been hooked since the 1st episode
Love this show..incredible writing and acting. Even the best shows sometimes need time for an audience to pick it up. Please do not cancel..
Please do not cancel this show. Please renew it. This is an amazing show and maybe if you changed the showing from Friday nite to another night in the week, it would have even more followers. Please, please, please renew this. Thank you.
I love this show jrm brings the intense dramtic Dracula full sexy to the screen!Change the note give Dracula another chance. Does anyone remember Moonlight? Voted and won 5 different awards but cancelled. That show was on Friday; if another nite no telling here that show would be. So simple move Dracula to another day Friday is not a good note for major shows..
Love dracula watched every week, always looked forward to Friday night’s.
my daily tweet to SERIOUS fans of Dracula. Tweet cole haddon and or Daniel knauf. Plus Robert Greenblatt at nbc. He is the one who decides about what gets cut and what doesn’t. Also change.org continue prodiucing Dracula, and save that show.com where you can vote and leave a comment which goes directly to the network. May will be the time they decide so take a minte and go to these sites and SAVE Dracula. By for now..thenks Maggie
Angel H did you read my comment? Please let me know! Will try to help anyone I can to save Dracula. Need to know that you got the information. By the way it’s not David Greenblatt, it’s ROBERT Greenblatt at NBC. Thanks! maggie
My wife and I love Dracula. It’s one of the few shows we look forward to watching every week. I imagine most of it’s fans are of a younger crowd. Please don’t cancel our favorite series.
they just have to renew Dracula it is really one of the very few shows on tv worth watching cause there is a lot of crap on tv in 2014
NBC is famous for canceling great shows and pulling the plug in other occasions. I hope this time around should considered renewing the second year of this series and get high ratings from all of their fans. Let’s see what the decide?
It’s essential that you renew Dracula. After all the pablum garbage that’s been on TV for years, there are finally some fascinating, refreshingly original series that my wife and I watch. Grimm is good, Game of Thrones, BlackList , Vikings, Elementary and, of course Dracula. For once it’s worth enduring some commercial overload in exchanged of an engaging show like Dracula. Please renew or lose this viewer.
Dracula is one of the best shows I’ve seen on TV in a long time. PLEASE do NOT cancel it.
Tim
Don’t canc this series I love it!!’
Good morning:
What is going on. Is NBC planning not to renew the series Dracula??? Impossible best series ever, better than Grim which I also love. We need to unite and request NBC to reconsider Dracula is awesome!!! Looking forward to season 2. Please advise what is the next step to make season 2 of Dracula happen. Thank you. Sandra I. Carrero
Sandra pls. see my comment above. This is where we need to unite to save Dracula! ANYONE needing more assistance, pls. let me know and I will help. As you can probably tell I am a DIE HARD fan to and willing to bug the heck out of these people until I am heard! notify me by follow up comments and e-mail and I’ll get back to you! Thanks Maggie
I do so much want to see Dracula renewed! it is the best of two shows on the air. That would be Dracula and Reign!
You have got to be kidding me. There are shows that remain on TV that should have been cancelled a long time ago. Dracular was one of the shows that I looked forward to watching every Friday night. The plot was different from any other Dracular movie out there. Which made this Dracular more interesting, and I couldn’t wait for the next episode. Loved the show, give it a second chance PLEASE.
Everyone tweet Cole haddon, the creator of Dracula, Daniel Knauf, the head writer of Dracula, and David Greenblatt, the head of NBC who decides the fate of NBC shows. If we all let them know how many of us are wanting Dracula back, then maybe it will happen. Tell all your friends who love it too. Remember, its all a numbers game with the networks, and if they don’t get the #’s they want they will cancel it. We need to let them know we are serious about a 2nd season. So take a minute and tweet all 3 with… Read more »
Maggie; Thanks for the info. Is there a petition? If not, perhaps we should start one. This show developed an obsessive fan base almost immediately. My understanding was that Dracula was the “pet project” of an NBC exec. Would this be Cole Haddon? I don’t have a Twitter account but will set one up to do this. Enthralling, gorgeous, intelligent, well acted and executed programming like this – much less a recent, U.S., Vampire series – is far too rare. Any specifics, such as where to find the accounts for the aforementioned Twits, umm… the Twitter names or whatever-it’s-called; would… Read more »
Angel- yes there is apetition, but I’m getting ready for work and can’t think of it off the top of my head. I will look it up later today and let you know. Until theh, you van twitter Cole haddon and or Daniel knauf , creater and executive producer of Dracula. also Daniel Greenblatt is the deciding person at NBC. You can twitter them all and leave your comments. Also save that show.com lets you vote once a day every day and LEAVE a comment too, as on this site it goes directly to NBC. I’m so glad you got… Read more »
sorry guys, I said David Greenblatt, It should be ROBERT GREENBLATT at NBC.thanks maggie
as I said this morn I would get back to. The petition site is: change.org continue producing nbc Dracula. Supposedly we only need 212 more “signatures”. so get everyone you know to sign up and tweet those men I told you about. If you follow me I will keep you informed. Time is getting short. supposedly they will make the decision in may! So now is the time to press hard! Anything else let me know, thanks maggie
