This horror/thriller series is a reimagining of the classic Dracula novel by Bram Stoker. It takes place in the late 19th century.
The mysterious Dracula (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) has arrived in London and is posing as an American entrepreneur who wants to bring modern science to Victorian society.
He’s especially interested in the new technology of electricity, which promises to brighten the night — a useful concept for someone who must avoid sunlight. He is aided by his loyal confidant, R.M. Renfield (Nonso Anozie).
Dracula has another reason for his travels however. He hopes to take revenge on those who cursed him with immortality centuries earlier.
Everything seems to be going according to plan until he becomes infatuated with Mina Murray (Jessica De Gouw), a woman who appears to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.
Episode #10 — “Let There Be Light”
At long last, American entrepreneur Alexander Grayson executed a public demonstration of his miraculous electromagnetic resonator device, which promises to provide free, wireless electricity to all of London.
The demonstration was postponed after a previous attempt only a fortnight ago reportedly poisoned the surrounding neighborhood, causing children and elderly residents to become ill. Mr. Grayson insists that the poisoning was the result of sabotage, most likely by his rivals at the United Imperial Lubricant Company, although Scotland Yard has yet to find any evidence to support the claims.
This weekend’s demonstration, the second such attempt for Mr. Grayson, was to be his magnum opus, the result of years – possibly even decades – of research and construction that would revolutionize the world as we know it and put his oil industry rivals out of business entirely. What began as a day of triumph and victory ended as one of the most tragic and destructive days in London’s recent history.
At approximately 6:22 in the evening, moments after Grayson fired up his resonator to shed miraculous, wireless light on the entire district, the machine suffered a catastrophic malfunction. Grayson and his engineering team went to great lengths to evacuate the area as quickly as possible, and indeed the brave men spared many lives by doing so.
However, only five minutes after the machine was activated, a mechanical malfunction led to the largest manmade explosion in British history, centered directly in the heart of downtown London. The damage was catastrophic. At least a dozen people were killed in the explosion, and, while the numbers are still being tallied, estimates predict the number of injured persons to be in the hundreds, possibly even into the thousands.
Miraculously (and despite being in the belly of the beast itself during the explosion), Mr. Grayson managed to escape relatively unscathed, save for a few bumps and bruises. He is currently exiled in Carfax Manor and refusing to speak to the press, other than to briefly announce that he suspects foul play and sabotage to be the cause of the malfunction.
As London continues to recover from the horrific tragedy, hundreds remain missing. Most notably, Mr. Browning, a prominent member of British high society, has not been seen since the day of the explosion, despite the fact that Mr. Browning was not on site when the accident occurred. Miss Lady Jayne Wetherby is also unaccounted for, and she was last scene hailing a carriage toward the demonstration, only moments before the explosion. Also missing is Mr. Grayson’s right-hand man, Mr. Renfield, who was last seen returning to Carfax Manor on the day of the demonstration.

What do you think? Do you like the Dracula TV series? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Great show!! I am so done with NBC!! They have no concept of letting a show develop. This is the third series I have started to watch that they have canceled after 1 season. Show had great potential & a great story line in the making. This ends my tolerance with this network & its programming. Goodbye NBC, get out of this line of business & go start pig farming, you’ll probably have better luck!!
Bring it back! My husband and I loved it.
Bring it back! One of my favorite shows!!!!
THIS IS A GREAT SHOW. I AM HARD TO PLEASE. I LOVED IT. GREAT STORY LINE AND THE REASONS BEHIND THE SCENES. I GUESS THIS NETWORK HAS LOST IT TASTE FOR A GREAT SHOW.
no, it should not have been cancelled, NBC should reconsider. I loved it.
NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. NO NO NO NO NO BO NO NO NO NO,NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO BRING BRING BRING BRING BRING BRING BRING IT IT IT IT IT IT IT BACK BACK BACK BACK BACK!!!!!!!!!!
WE WANT OUR DRACULA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I am utterly disappointed. I have followed this show from the first episode and was drawn in immediately. I am so pissed that this show has been canceled. There is so much left unanswered. I absolutly in love with Jonathan Meyers. He is a brillant actor. Because of the show i have started to watch th other series he was in……Tudors. Please bring this show back……i know that im not the only one. U have a hit series here and u have taken it away. Very disappointed. Please Jonathan come back. I love ur work so much.
loved the show Dracula, Jonathan Rhys Meyers did a great job. Very upset that they decided to cancel, what is the point in enjoying a good show if they will eventually kill it. So many other good shows were cancelled as well and very disappointed!!
That’s too bad…. I actually liked the show…
I wanted to like this, but really didn’t like how quickly they pushed Mina and Alexander together which IMO made the show feel forced. She’s engaged, but isn’t he dreamy. About as subtle as a hammer. Loved the concept, and period, but thought the execution fell short.
NBC another show I loved!! You have canceled everything I watched on your channel, so I no longer intend to watch NBC.
Please see my previous post. If they brought it back as a summer replacement like they do so many other shows. If Dracula isn’t better than Hannibal, and Rosemarys baby and whatever other crap they put on, I don’t know what is.
Reading through comments on Dracula and other shows that have recently been cancelled the consensus always seems to be the same….So many people love the show (s) yet the networks could care less….Not just NBC but BBCA and others….They spend a gazillion dollars to put together a show, and don’t give it a chance…Seriously if it’s a dog it’s a dog and I get not bringing it back. But some, for example Dracula are put on Friday night at 10PM….Seriously? Seriously? Why the hell do you not change it to the lead in for Grimm? A 8PM time slot, gearing… Read more »
Well said Linda hayes. IF everyone did and said the same thing, About NBC, maybe they would change their tune. If the viewership goes down cause no one watches and, instead of petitions, that get glance at, then thrown away, everyone went old fashioned, and sent letters to NBC expressing their disgust at cancelling Dracula, Imagine the amount of paper they have to deal with and possibly change their minds. BUT, people have to be organized and dedicated. If we all organize everyone around the world that is displeased with the decision, it would create chaos at NBC. If you… Read more »
I agree that NBC keeps canceling shows and firing the actors. just recently they fired jay Leno agin and I am still mad about it and now they canceled my other favorite show it got me really mad.
The Dracula Show should definitely be brought back for season 2. The Friday night 10:00 pm.. time slot is perfect for this show. NBC made a huge error in judgement !!!
I agree with everything you said, and you reminded me that I do watch Grimm so that will be the only show I watch on NBC also, I will not watch another new show on NBC.
That is the same way I feel. I will never commit to another new NBC show. When Grimm is done, so am I with NBC.
Bring it back! We want MORE!
How sad that this show was cancelled. I thought it was one of the more decent programs on TV.
This is a great show and should be brought back!! this is why I dont get into NBC shows. The shows just get started, they are great shows and then NBC cancels them.
Please Bring back Dracula! Still more story to tell. The actors are great. Jonathan Rhys Meyers did a Fantastic Job as Dracula! This show deserves a Season 2.
