It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I really looked forward to this different style show. ABC has a habit of cancelling any shows that I like! Why don’t you give it a little longer, ABC?
Okay again I have to say that a show this good could only be not doing well due to poor promoting and bad time slot. I have tivo so frankly I don’t even know what time the show is on,but seriously this is a great show! I agree its a nice light hearted show and just a tad bid of scandle making it good wholesome fun,which we can ll use a little more of!I do think they should slow it down a bit lie others have posted and take more time to develope the characters. Ima 14 year old girl &all I have to say is you people who run ABC are crazy. You have no idea what people want. I mean first you canceled Kyle XY on a fuh-reaking CLIFFHANGER! No wonder FOX gets more viewers than you. Wensday was something I was excited about. I rushed home from school &got all comfortable waiting for the wensday night line up. The writers took too many episodes to REALLY showcase the “witches” and reveal their powers. I’ve enjoyed the show from the beginning but with today’s fast pace, demand for everything “right now!” I think the show shouldn’t leaped in and then used some of the preliminary scenes where the women are trying to figure out what’s going on in flashbacks or something. Easy to go back after the audience is already hooked! Just a thought….I’ll miss Eastwick!!!!!
WTF… i really liked the show.. watched it whenever i could which was at work on hulu.com since i sleep during the day and work at night the only reason i looked forward to going to work was to watch eastwick.. This is a bunch of BS.. im mad.. i hate when they do that.. Now ill never know what mystery will happen next in eastwick..
I’m so disappointed to read this show is being cancelled. It’s just getting into it’s stride and we’re getting to know the characters better. I like too that it’s not just a rehash of the movie. I recently noticed that is on free to air TV here (Aus) at 11pm on a Friday night which is ridiculous. Fortunately I found it on the net (as I can’t afford cable) and have been watching the episodes at a more reasonable hour. It’s ridiculous how they get rid of the good shows all the time but keep the crappy ones going. It always seems to be ABC that is the biggest culprit for this. If they take off Eastwick & The Forgotten then I may just have to stop watching ABC all together, I can’t stand the “REALITY” shows that are everywhere now a days. Like we need anymore dancing, singing, bug eating shows.
I hate that they are canceling this Eastwick, Me and my mom loved it! It was something we looked forward to watching and like previous comments said, Its better then shows about sex and drugs and reality tv. shows! I love the show and i wished they would at least let them finish the first season =(
i love eastwick and why is all the good shows being cancelled? what about the people watching it huh? we want it to stay on! it’s no fair to the people that watch it! we will never get to see whay happens at the end of the series. it will end in a cliffhanger and it we will never find out how it ends.

i”m sad but not surprised that they canceled Eastwick—no violence or sex. We can only have a choice of two genres, a show like Eastwick which would be a perfect family drama just doesn’t bring in the ratings.

I love Eastwick, it is refreshing and the characters have really pulled me in. I am getting tired of all of the crime series out there, even the ones that I follow and record every week are becoming of no interest to me. Eastwick on the other hand, is so much lighter, it is my little escape from the darkness and negativity that seems to dominate tv lately. I agree with all of the above comments… I really enjoyed charmed and was very excited when this show came out… I watched it religiously and now it’s being cancelled… but V and Flash Forward somehow still comes on. I also am sick of all the reality shows and I just wanted some mystery that didn’t involve a mortuary, detectives, crime scene investigators, & forensic scientists!! This show was awesome and it will truly be missed!!!!
