It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

The posts above state it all. I’m equally disappointed that Eastwick is getting cut from the line up. Every time a good drama comes on air, they take it away. This show was so fun to watch and even got me excited about Wednesday night TV again. Thumbs up to the writers for getting so many of us thirty-something viewers hooked. Thank you for the weeks that we were able to enjoy.
Witchcraft so tastefully done, how could even the most orthodox religionist be offended? In fact this series makes people think about the moral issues surrounding the use of spiritual powers. These ladies are anything but your usual run of Wiccans. It is excellent entertainment and all of us are sorry to see it go.
I definitely am disappointed with ABC again for canceling a show that has a lot of potential. I loved Lipstick Jungle and was frustrated with their decision to cancel that show and then do it again with Eastwick. There’s so much crap on TV these days and I loved how Eastwick was new and exciting and had a totally different story line. After this season ABC will lose Lost and they’re trying to maintain viewers through some new shows, but I think that they will struggle too. Don’t cancel this show! It’s one of the most interesting shows on television. It’s a show that my husband and I both enjoy together. It’s adult and it isn’t reality t.v. crap. The writing and the acting is great. I would suggest moving it to a different time slot to get more viewers, perhaps earlier. I have my Tivo set to tape it every week & it’s one of my top five shows.
I love the show Eastwick. I will be sad to see it go. All the good show are always cancelled. I think for one thing it is on to late so that is why you don’t get good ratings.

ABC! You all are pieces of CRAP!!! I told you onece, and I will tell you again, that I will never watch your network ever again. I have CBS, and NBC, and 200 other freaking channels I can watch. This is just another example of poor planning and lack of imagination on the networks part. Sometimes it takes a little while for a show to get going and catch on. This show is very funny and maybe a little on the female side of entertainment, but hell, everything can’t be geared to men. Ladies, step up to the plate and back a show with some fun in it. We are people too. LOVE THE SHOW AND ENJOY THE TIME AWAY FROM REALITY ONCE IN AWHILE.
Every series I’ve ever liked seems to get cancelled. Shows like Firefly, Samantha Who, Eastwick and I heard Dollhouse is also getting cancelled. Jeez I should just throw away my tv!

Please dont cancel this show. I thought it was somewhat a breath of fresh air considering the only shows on TV anymore are reality shows. I thought this was a clever show with a great actors and actually was funny also. I thought the dialogue was fine and not hokey. I really wish they would reconsider cancelling it. I look forward to it every week.
I love this show and it was just starting to get really good. They have not even given the show time to heat up or even get viewers interested. Put it in a different time slot or let another network pick it up. Its a different, quirky and fun show with a great cast. The more I watch it the more I love it. Eastwick was the best show to come along in years. Great cast, story plots, well written.
I was on the edge of my seat from the pilot episode. I’m surprised it wasn’t moved to a new night and time to see if ratings improved. The last time I was this thrilled over a show was the X files.
This is total crap. I love this show, and it is such a nice change from all the crime dramas and reality shows. If they replace it with some BS show about cops or criminal, or with a BS reality show I will stop watching TV all together. ARGH. This frustrates me to no end.
