It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

i cant believe this shows is being cancelled. the characters are just getting into their own and so much more could be done with this. As usual the shows that need a liitle time to tell astory are not given a chance. Shame!!
I actually enjoyed the show very much. I am very sad that it will not be returning on air. It took the watcher away from the real world and offered a bit of mystery.
The show doesn’t help itself being highly misandrist. Every guy in the show is devious, up to no good, alcoholic, abusive or just plain stupid.

Why not cancel a new show with great talent and a storyline that’s a little different yet entertaining and fun to watch? I mean, we should cancel a great show like so that we have more time to watch ALL THE CRAPPY REALITY SHOWS!!! This is true evidence of what our society has become and I’m disgusted!

ABC – you only have YOURSELVES TO BLAME!! Eastwick is a great series and one which you guys should keep on airing. I have watched the last episode (13) and you cannot just leave it there.!!! Its like going to the movies and only being allowed to watch half of it. What are you guys thinking of.? I love all the supernatural stuff and Eastwick was a light hearted, totally enjoyable series. I am very upset this show is getting cancelled. Just when it seemed we getting away from all of the reality and gameshows, there was finally a day to watch something enjoyable. Truly saddens me.
Not many viewers knew of the show as there wasn’t enough previews about it. I for one did not even now of it until towards the last 2 episodes and only because my daughter told me about it as we both love to read these type of books and now we watch Vampire Diaries. and True Blood but that it was because these shows were being promoted many times before the shows even started. Hey ABC executive ********, why don’t you give us little minions who watch your shows, who make you rich a break. Stop axing all the good shows and get rid of shows that have been on years to long! I usually watch cable only for this reason, but , saw this show and loved it! So at least give us a end for goddess sake! Do you think you can handle that!

Typically my boyfriend doesn’t like the shows I watch but he watches them anyway cause I only allow 1 tv in my house and he was upset when I told him yesterday that it was being cancelled….. HE was upset. Please just give everyone a conclusion!!!

This is why no one watches new shows…It is obviously some mans sick idea of foreplay! Everytime there is a new and interesting show it gets cancelled! I will stick to USA or Lifetime. Just goes to show you why its called free TV no one watches it.
if they just kept up with the show and put it on at the time it should have been on more people would have probably watched it. replacing the slot with ugly betty was a poor choice as well because eastwick is defiantly better than that show.
I am really upset because finally when the networks start to make the shows interesting, they pull them. It is a shame because I was just starting to get interested. I am just going to say this now, I am sick of this happening and I would be highly upset if they pull this wonderful show. I would also appreciate if you could air the final episodes so you won’t leave it up in the air like shows before!
The show failed because they weren’t consistent with weekly episodes. It would be on for a couple of weeks then disappear for 1 or 2 weeks. Also the 10 pm time slot is usually the death of most shows.
