It looks like the magic is over for the three ladies of Eastwick. ABC network has decided against ordering any additional episodes of the supernatural series, effectively cancelling it.
Eastwick revolves around three women (Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price, and Jaime Ray Newman) who meet at a wishing fountain and become friends. Soonafter, mysterious Darryl Van Horne (Paul Gross) moves to town and unleashes powers within the ladies. The cast also includes Ashley Benson, Johann Urb, Jon Bernthal, Sara Rue, and Veronica Cartwright.
The show got off to a slow start on September 23rd with a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demo and 8.5 million total viewers. The second installment fell to a 2.3 in the demo and 6.57 million viewers. The third week fell again to a 1.8 and 5.14 million.

In the weeks that followed, the ratings didn’t get any better and more frequently got worse. Last week, Eastwick hit an all-time low of 1.5 in the demo and 4.4 million.
ABC has opted to pull the show from the schedule for two weeks. This Wednesday, it’s replaced by the Country Music Awards. Next week, it’s being bumped for an interview special called In the Spotlight with Robin Roberts: Janet Jackson. Though Eastwick is scheduled to return on Thanksgiving eve with a new episode, the supernatural drama won’t be around for long after that.
ABC has decided not to order any additional episodes of Eastwick, effectively cancelling the series after 13 episodes. It’s unknown if the last episode will wrap up the ongoing storylines. For now, ABC plans to air all six remaining installments but, if the ratings keep declining, the network could easily pull the series before that happens.

I think the show was great. All it needed was a better time slot and day. CBS should buy it and run it after The Ghost Whisperer and Medium. GIRL POWER!
Loved Eastwick. Loved it. Loved. Finally something funny and exciting at the same time. Strong women not afraid to take things on by themselves. Hey – we can all use som magic once in a while. Especially these days…

I hate it when they bring on shows like this, give very little promotion, bump time slots, and then decide to cancel the show because they don’t have the ratings they wanted. I looked for the show every week and had a hard time following it. It was a good thing I had a DVR or I would have missed many episodes!! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out what happened. Bump some of the tired old reality shows and bring back something that was truly entertaining!!
Seriously,this sucks. When they cancelled Samantha Who that pissed me off,and now they’ve cancelled Eastwick. I’m a teenager and I still loved it. Not to mention it was great after the comedy of Wednesday night! Well,the good comedy of Wednesday night (not Cougar Town). Now I’m just worried that Modern Family will be cancelled because that is yet another show that I absolutely LOVE. ABC:this network is a prison. On planet ********. In the galaxy of this sucks camel dick.
I loved this show i think that they should bring it back. They cancelled this show but not cougar town comon lets be serous i hate cogar town loved eastwick.Cougar town its just plain stupid. I iam tired of alllll the law & orders all of csi in all states this was something knew and refreshing. They should bring this back perdiod.
I really enjoyed this show… I am so dissapointed in the cancellation of it.. Darryl was to Hot… Shame on you abc. You shoud have cancelled big fat loser instead.. Please who wants to watch people lose weight so we can feel better about ourself or ashamed.. Please get rid of that show or the apprentice.. Trump is annoying and everyone on that show..

Loved the program, tired of reality shows, Desperate Housewives, all the CSI’s and Law and Orders, what a crock this show was cancelled no reason to watch ABC at all now!
I am so tired of ABC canceling too many good shows!! I have lost track of just how many shows I really liked that ABC has axed on me. Why not get rid of Private Practice because it’s just like Grey’s anatomy…..all the doctors having sex with any and everyone. I loved Dirty Sexy Money and I was really starting to like Eastwick. I watch Lost because I started from the beginning, and once it’s gone it would be nice if ABC could put a good series on and keep it on.
Hard to believe that they cancelled Eastwick and replaced it with Ugly Betty!!!! What’s up with that?! Isn’t there enough of that crap on anyway?! Finally just got the ball rolling with the men entering town to stir some things up and got incredibly interesting then its over!! ABC is crazy!!! they need to keep it!!! U don’t finally give the people what they want in a show then cancel it!!!
I totally agree that there was never enough exposure for the show. My mother and I looked forward to every new episode coming out, and we got most of our family and friends watching it as well. The ratings wouldn’t be such a such a problem if there was more exposure… I mean when Desperate Houswives came out, everyone watched that because it had media from the start. But I guess the whole “witch” thing is too taboo for CBS… I know everyone is sick of hearing about vampires and Twilight… so bringing witches into the picture was a huge… Read more »
I am very disappointed in hearing that Eastwick has been cancelled. I agree with the post that it is a refreshing change with what’s already on tv, and loved the show about three strong women. I do watch reality-type shows as well, but there is something great about the age of sitcoms and dramas that reality can’t match. Even though it’s “reality,” there isn’t actually much about them that is REAL, which is precisely why I would rather watch a show that is imaginative and not trashy.
I LOVED this show and was sooo disapointed to see it cancelled! ABC didn’t do that much promotion and it should have had a better time slot. They definitely should bring it back or at least finish it off in a better way. They had just delivered a big twist in the story plot then….it was gone!

To be honest, I hate Desperate Housewives, Had about enough of CSI (In any State), Can’t say I want more Reality Shows, Not to mention Cougar town, Give me a break.. As far as I am concerned, Eastwick was a REFRESHING CHANGE!! I truly enjoyed it and would have loved to have seen more.. Besides, The cliffhanger at the end of the last episode, Eastwick Episode 13 “Pampered And Tampered”, How can you leave us hanging with that?
