There have been many successful projects based on the Land of Oz book series by L. Frank Baum. There’s also been a number of flops. Now, NBC is trying a television series called Emerald City. Will it be another hit or a disappointment? Will the Emerald City TV show be cancelled or renewed for a second season? Stay tuned.
A fantasy drama, Emerald City is the tale of a young woman named Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona). She finds her true strength and identity as she battles to bring a divided world together. An all-powerful ruler called the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom. He has outlawed magic and faces a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force — as well as the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches. The rest of the cast includes Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Ana Ularu, Mido Hamada, Gerran Howell, Jordan Loughran, and Joely Richardson.
5/5 update: Emerald City has been cancelled by NBC. There will be no second season. Details here.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/4 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Emerald City TV series? Would you like to see it cancelled or renewed for a second season?

Expect should say except
I enjoyed much of it. But was disappointed with last episode and felt it to be a bit weak in substance. I liked all the actors expect the wizard. Did not like how he interpreted it.
Not just best show on Friday, but best show on TV! Pls pls pls continue!
Ratings are only including DVR activity only when commercials are being watched????? How crazy is that??? I don’t have the patience to sit through 10 minutes of blah blah blah when they left me with a dang on cliff hanger and I can fast forward to see what happens next!!!
Personal opinion, they should just mark a DVR as an activity regardless of when it is watched or what is fast forward through!!
They are just Oz Nazis
Duh, how are networks to make money?

I only found out about it by looking up adventure tv shows.I am so happy i found this awesome show and just wish and hope you guys can make a second season!!!!I want to see what happens PLZ!!!!!
So I binge watched emerald city on Hulu and have completely fallen in love with the story and characters. There are so many unanswered questions that there has to be a season 2. If NBC cancels the show I hope it gets picked up by Hulu or Netflix. They have done it with other shows in the past but I hope NBC executives are smart enough to renew. The ratings may have declined a little but I never heard of it until I found it on Hulu. If they put more effort into advertising I think all true fans of… Read more »
