A fantasy drama, this TV series is based on the Land of Oz book series written by L. Frank Baum. It’s the tale of a young woman finding her true strength and identity as she battles to bring a divided world together.
While searching for her mother, 20-year-old Dorothy Gale (Adria Arjona) is swept up into the eye of a tornado and transported to a mystical world. It’s where an all-powerful ruler called the Wizard (Vincent D’Onofrio) governs over one kingdom, has outlawed magic and faces a looming disaster brought on by a mythical force — as well as the wrath of a growing cauldron of witches.
While on her path to find her way home, Dorothy comes upon a wounded soldier named Lucas (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) and a young man, Jack (Gerran Howell), who’s attempting to free his best friend Tip (Jordan Loughran) from a mysterious woman (Fiona Shaw).
Meanwhile, in Emerald City, Glinda (Joely Richardson) and West (Ana Ularu) come together to say farewell to their fallen sister, The Wicked Witch of the East (Florence Kasumba).
Elsewhere, the Wizard sends Eammon (Mido Hamada) on a mission to discover what fell from the sky and disturbed the Land of Oz.
Episode #10; “There’s No Place Like Home”

With a renewed confidence, Dorothy faces off against the Wizard and fights to save Oz from his oppressive reign. What do you think? Do you like the Emerald City TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season two on NBC?
You people don’t care about the people watching… All u care about is rating if u can’t continue give to a station that can carry on the good work
Why is it being cancelled??? Bring the show back at least give it to Netflix so they can make it better and I honestly don’t think it was made for actual T.V.
Everyone keeps saying bring this show back, which I agree with 100%, but unfortunately it won’t be brought back just like Revolution was never brought back because the people in charge at NBC, don’t care what us normal regular people like, don’t realize that most of us watch these shows by DVR or other means, they only care about the ratings of the show according to the night it’s on, if ot doesn’t immediately do well the night it’s on, they are going to cancel it and screw everyone who has a life and DVR’S it or watches it via… Read more »
Please bring Emerald City back. It was such a great show. I was left on a major cliffhanger. I was soo happy for the next season and this happens! Why the torture?!
I really loved the show! Why cancel it especiallu when you left us on a major cliffhanger? I was soooooo pumped for the next season and then this happened, why? Please bring Emerald City back!!
Emerald City was a wonderful show. It had everything in it to captivate the entire family. If it was properly promoted and put into a Sunday family time slot it would do amazingly well. I can’t believe great shows like these are being cancelled and we are being left with filth and reality television. Such a frustrating time.
I loved the show, Emerald City. Since it is cancelled it seems the only type of show that people seem to like are the ‘REALITY SHOWS” which as far as I am concerned are a total waste of time and brain cells. I like to watch tv to be entertained. A little fantasy is a reality escape and enjoyable.
Please bring emerald city back! It was an amazing mix of drama, action, and romance! It was perfect!!!!!!
emerald city really good the best show I love it please return it back on
It was obviously way under promote it if they promoted it properly and did season two I know they would have a huge hit on their hands I’ve told a lot of people about it Who have watched the entire series after it premiered and were truly surprised to hear it had been canceled they all said they did not know anything about it until I told them about it It’s a big mistake not to make season two but this time promote it properly
Thoroughly enjoyed watching Emerald City. NBC you needed to promote it more than you did. Missed seeing it, caught it on internet. Please do another season and do more promotion for it. Want it back, please!!!!
Emerald City was such a beautiful retelling of the classic Wizard of Oz. I really hope NBC either reconsiders their decision to cancel the series or another network or Netflix or Hulu pick it up to at least give it a second season to tie it off.
Hulu please let it be Hulu.
I can’t believe that NBC would cancel this series but then again I can hardly believe they had the intelligence to produce one season. This was easily the best program NBC had on the air.
Please do find a way to bring back Emerald City, at least for one more season. If this show was ever promoted at all, I haven’t seen it. Stumbled across it halfway through the season and now it’s in my top 3. It really was one of the best things on TV. Far and away beyond the rest. Too far? I don’t think so. It just needed a chance – a little promotion and 2 seasons, to start. Netflix? Hulu? This can’t be the end of it. Plenty of people are looking for this kind of great (cable) television, they… Read more »
One of the best shows! I realize that it must have been very expensive to produce but you are leaving with garbage in it’s place. Characters, costumes, direction, special effects….GREAT, At least a final episode so we can see the “Happily Ever After”. I think TV should provide us with more fantasy and fewer “reality.
